Hi! Do you take requests? I'm dying to have someone restore the bright lights in the Nightsong transformation scene, which used to look like this before Patch 6 I believe (starts at 4:46).
Now it looks like this instead (at 4:21).
I think the lights really give you the feel of that divine angelic power that we're supposed to get from the daughter of the Moonmaiden but Larian decided to remove it for some reason.
I'm so in love with the way the scene looked when she spreads her wings and slowly descends with all that light around her almost blinding us. Really makes you feel like you're bathed in the holy power of an angel.
Damn... the first one looks so much better, it looks like real armour is being created over the model, the second one seems like the model that is changing.
I like that the second one has more facial lighting during the beginning dialogue, but omg that blinding light and not being able to see her then she descends is SO much better
Yes! This change baffles me more than a lot of the other changes. You can really see the power of the character by the light. The sword descending also doesn't look nearly as cool
No, this does not contain a mod fixer. It was made for patch 7, since that's when the cutscene changes were made. The "patch 6" refers to restoring the patch 6 version of the cutscene. Apologies for the confusion!
Thank you for this! Honestly I don't fully hate the new cutscene, but they changed the music and I hope they change it back next patch. For now though i'll happily use this.
Honestly if I knew how i'd just have the old cutscene but then have the new animation play at the end of Ansur getting up.
Thank you so much! I can forgive them everything, but I can't forgive the cut Song of Balduran. Larian just cut the melancholy soundtrack that was written specifically for this scene and didn't even bother to notify Borislav about it. Without music, this scene is doomed
this comparison REALLY helps wow... the dragon goes from a deeply ominous undead to just... a dragon... also the player character seems a lot more vulnerable in the original which adds to the weight of the scene
I also agree, the original is way better, the current one is so weird. Why is the resurrected dragon just there waiting? In the original one when you are "possessed" at least you could argue the dragon didn't resurrect yet.
Mmh I didn't get to that point yet, but I can clearly see why they revamped it. The corpse animation is much better than a still body, the dragon is more aggressive, fitting with the dialogue, and outside some crappy shadows on the Emperor, the scene has more grit and flavor to it.
But hey, it's nice to offer both choices to users.
this change in particular is making me so unbelievably angry that i cannot articulate myself in a comment. thank you for this mod - or rather, thank you for returning what was taken for no reason and with no benefit
maybe there is any way to better optimize this scene? during it my fps drop to 15-17, sometimes being as low as 7-10 fps :( this never happened before, at least not to this extend, and I'll be very very glad if somehow you could fix that
my shitty PC aside, thank you so so much for this mod!! this change pissed me off so much and I'm so very glad that you brought back the original masterpiece of a scene
idk for sure, but guessing it's generally safe to add (i'm going to)... but, i'd assume that you would wanna install b4 you get to Act 3 (at the very least b4 you go to the Lower City) (before any location related stuff gets set in-game)
Actually, this isn’t true! I tested it both on a fresh save, and on an existing save that was already in the Wyrmway. It only affects this one cutscene, not the placement of any world objects.
