NOTE: In some cases, you might need to either take a long rest or level up before you go to the vendor that has the weapons. You only need to do this if you have already been to the vendor. If you install the mod at the start of the game and you visit the vendor for the first time with the mod installed he or she should have the weapons.

Update 8-Oct-2023
Added a new katana called the Red Dragon
only the red dragon version has been added to the tutorial chest.

This mod adds 5 pairs of katanas to your game. The first pair is a light finesses katana that does 1d6 damage. The second one is a 1d8 finesse, versatile pair. The versatile damage is 1d10. The third one is a 1d8 finesse, versatile, plus 1 with 1d4 force damage pair. The fourth one is a legendary katana by the name of Amakuni. It is a 1d8 finesse, versatile, 1d8 force damaging, crit 19-20, ignores slashing distance, does 2 bleed damage 20% of the time, and is a plus 3 weapon. The new fifth one is the red dragon katana. It is the same as the Amakuni but does fire damage and the user is immune to fire damage.

You can also buy them from Arron in Druid's Grove and or in the Sorcerous Sundries shop that can be found in the Lower City in act 3 (Can someone with access to this area let me know if this works? I have no way of checking as I am still in the starting area). (EDIT) I removed them from the tutorial chest as people said it was breaking it.  The legendary ones are very expensive as I tried to make them cost what you would pay (ish) if you did buy them from a vendor (31k each). This should make it so that almost everyone can pick them up.

The 1d6 light katana, normal 1d8 katana, and the +1 katana all use a custom mesh that I modeled. They do however use the game's default texture for the game's katana. The Amakuni uses custom textures by me. I did this so that way I had something to work up to and look forward to.

I just started this game and I just made it to the Druid's groove. I wanted to get this mod finished before I started my first playthrough so I do not know a lot about the game and where best to put my swords. There is still a lot I do not know about modding this game and this mod would not have been possible without Curotar. I used his mod as a template to get my weapon into the game. So a big thank you to him. I am open to suggestions though I will not likely be able to get to them for a long time as I made this mod to enjoy my playthrough of the game and just thought I would be kind and let you all use it too. Sorry to anyone in their current playthrough who isn't able to access my katanas as I do not know what is assessable or not later in the game.

I would also like to give a big thank you to Lostsoulman for helping me with the coding in order to get two weapons into a single mod. Without his help I wouldn't have been able to release the Amakuni and dragon together. Now with being able to do more than one weapon, I plan on adding more weapons to this mod.

The mod has two files. The first one is a mod file that you can install with a mod manager of your choice. The second is a Generated file that needs to be added to your bg3 data folder. The Generated file contains the weapon model for the katana replacement. I was not able to figure out a way to make it work by adding it to the mod file. If anyone knows how to do this please let me know and I will update the mod. You do not need to get the Generated file if you do not want to as if you do not have it the game will just default to its katana. This is only for the first three katanas. The Amakuni katana has its own model and textures and is included in the main file.

This is a quick and dirty mod upload so I do apologize for not having flashy photos and want not. At some point in time, I might jazz it up. If you like this mod please comment and endorse as I do read all the comments left on my pages.
