This is one of the most flavorful mods on the nexus I'm shocked it gets so little love. I'm doing a durge sorc/fighter playthrough rn and was looking for ways to do a gish which sorcerer doesn't land itself very well to, apparently. I initially wanted to do either a 5/7 fighter sorc split or find an extra attack and cha attack scaling mod for my gish but after reading the mod description and playing around with it I must admit this is such an elegant and overall better solution that allows me to mostly stay a sorcerer while being able to dish out some pain in melee when needed, this is everything I've ever wanted, keeps things feeling balanced fresh and unique I love it.
Any chance to make it possible to also have the melee cantrips (booming blade / green flame blade / frostbite blade) be used when casting a spell and not just a regular attack? Would go well with your changes honestly and I was surprised it didn't give that option when I got to level 5
Never mind, I see the intent was to either make a cantrip melee attack and a regular attack or a spell and regular attack which makes things balanced. Ignore this
Yup, any spell that costs an action will trigger the bonus action attack, even cantrips, regardless of whether or not they are melee. You can even do it after casting Dancing Lights if you're casting it during combat for some reason.
Allowing melee cantrips after a spell would be a bit stronger than I'd like. Sorcerers already have access to the Quicken metamagic if they really want to do that.
How do I make this work with other classes? For example, if I use the Arcanist mod I can still get the war sorcery metamagic but it doesnt upgrade at level 5 or 10. Im guessing thats because it only checks for sorcerer levels.
Edit: I figured it out. You just had to add the class to the level requirements in the passives file.
Can this be done by editing the .pak file in Notepad or something? I am using the Divine Soul mod for Spirit Guardian purposes and I would like to include the subclass into the "scope" of this mod as well.
Subclasses for the sorcerer should be automatically compatible since the features scale on Sorcerer level and aren't tied to any subclass.
If you do want to edit something, though, you'll have to either decompile the .pak using modding tools or grab the source files from GitHub in the mirrors section and then compile it again.
First of all, great mod! This pretty much fulfills the sorcerer gish that I've always wanted.
Second, I don't know if it's this mod or the Core mod, but this disables the changes made on Haste when playing on Honour Mode. I am still able to proc extra attack with the action granted with Haste even thought that's been nerfed in Honour Mode.
I activated/deactivated mods in my load order to determine where that issue was coming from and I'm pretty certain it's being causes by this mod. Not sure if it's because of the mod itself or with an interaction with another mod. Not a huge issue, but it does make Honour Mode a lot easier and I thought that you'd like to know about it.
Hmmm... Interesting. It's probably the core mod since it makes changes to the entirety of the extra attack system, it likely undoes something Larian updated to handle the Honour Mode.
Hello, super cool and balanced mod, realy like it, but can you tell me, if you know? how can i change Draconic Resilience, thet its work with armor and add +3 or +2 to armor, and not be overvriten when whear armor?
I read your post from below, so i just need to know what line to change. Tnx
Same line, but instead replace it with: data "Boosts" "AC(2)"
Replace the number in AC(x) where x is the AC you want it to give. Also, if you want it to always be active even when you're wearing armor delete the two lines above it: data "BoostContext" "OnEquip;OnCreate" data "BoostConditions" "not WearingArmor(context.Source)"
hi, this looks super interesting! i've been looking for a mod that enables draconic resilience and unarmored defence from the barbarian to stack (bc i was assuming they could, based on how draconic resilience is worded, but alas). would it be possible for you to make a version that mimics that, i.e. draconic resilience is 13+dex+con? or if you've used any particular resources/tutorial to create that aspect of the mod, could you link me to them?
I can teach you how to do it, for sure. In the Mirrors section you can download this mod's source files from my Github. Throw away everything except the SwordMSorcery folder (you don't need the rest.)
After you've downloaded that, that navigate the folders to .../SwordMSorcery/Public/SwordMSorcery/Stats/Generated/Data and open the Passives.txt with any text editor like notepad. The first block of text is the Draconic Resilience passive.
Change the line that says: data "Boosts" "ACOverrideFormula(13,true,Dexterity);ACOverrideFormula(13,true,Constitution)"
to: data "Boosts" "ACOverrideFormula(13,true,Dexterity,Constitution)"
Save the file. Now you'll need the BG3 Modder's Multitool. Download it, unzip it to a folder of your choice and run the executable file. You'll see a small window with a blue square on it. The only thing you'll have to do with it is drag and drop the SwordMSorcery folder with your edits into the blue square and it'll create a .zip file. Install that zip file as a mod in your preferred mod manager and you're good to go!
it works!! thank you so much :DDD ETA: the AC calculation works just fine, but i can't go to camp or leave the camp now?? do you have any idea what might be causing that? i have no other mods installed besides this one and 2 native mods, free camera and wasd movement (and those two continue to behave the same)
Hello, thanks for making this mod! I've been looking for a good way to make a gish and this feels good without feeling overtuned. I've been enjoying my playthrough, and just hit level 5!
I'm a bit confused, though, because I can't seem to access the benefits of the level 5 bind weapon. It's spending the 3 sorcery points, but I can't seem to figure out how to access the bonus attack. I've checked through all the hotbars and the character sheets and stuff, but never found anything, both before and after casting a spell. I also checked with level 1, 2, and 3 spells in addition to cantrips. And I even tried resting to make sure it was a fresh bind buff, but I still can't seem to find the option to make that extra attack
It should be the exact same button you use to make a normal attack. Just clicking on the enemy should do it too.
If that's not working, check again if you've downloaded and added the requirement mod to your mod list, since that's a necessity to make sure that feature is working correctly.
it looks like that might be exactly it! I could have sworn I downloaded sms core before, but it seems it got lost in the shuffle back when I was figuring out what mods I wanted to play with.
I can't test right now, though, it seems like today's BG3 patch broke stuff so I'm crashing when an enemy dies
EDIT: some other mods got an update and I was able to confirm, it's working now! Thanks for the help
Hmmm... Last thing I can think of are any changes to Extra Attack that are done by the Core mod. Try respeccing any companion with a class that gets an extra attack and is above 5th leve as well.
If that doesn't work I'm not sure what it could be. See if it still loads if you uninstall this mod but not the Core.

I already re specced my Sorc to level 1, game crashes on loading a save.
I also tried respeccing to a different class altogether, game still crashes on load.
The game loads fine if I reinstall the mod using BG3MM so I’m unsure if there’s something else I can do to remove it.
Thanks.
