Is a version with the Furious Spellcasting passive as a base Barbarian Feature (or a Feat you can take on level up ala ASI) somewhere on the table? Its hard to find mods that let you cast spells while raging and it'd be really nice if there was a version that did just that.
I tend to view actually altering the base class as outside the scope of the mod. That said, I know this is a decently popular request and I have since stumbled upon Heavy Caster Barbarian. Lets regular Barbarians either wear heavy armour, cast/concentrate on spells, or do both.
I'm afraid I haven't tested it for Patch 8, or to make sure that it's compatible with this. I think it would be. Under-the-hood the Rage Mage doesn't actually alter Rage; it just learns a special version of it that doesn't apply RAGE_MUTE. (A hidden status that does what you'd probably expect: blocking spellcasting while Rage is active.)
It's something I've wanted to get around to, along with support for a few other popular spell mods. But a few quirks of the subclass mean it's not quite as simple as just adding the spells to the Rage Mage's spell lists. Right now I'm also inclined to wait for Patch 8, to see if they get any changes once Larian adds their own takes on things like Booming Blade, etc.
I wouldn't mind doing it, though I'd probably make it its own page rather than putting it here. Honestly, I'm surprised there isn't one already, though perhaps I've just missed it.
So this seems to not add any of the extra cantrips or spells available to Sorcerer from, say, 5e Spells, or Homebrew Spells. Is that intentional? There seems to be a VERY narrow spell list here!
Also, the original class doesn't seem to have the evocation and transmutation limit. Why did you add it?
1) It's not a deliberate omission, but due to a few quirks (mainly that their own spells only work in a Rage), behind-the-scenes the class has its own copies of a Sorcerer's spells rather than just directly grabbing from their spell list. This means spells from other sources aren't automatically added.
2) I think the Rage Mage -- the tabletop homebrew, not the mod -- went through a few iterations. I based the features on my copy of Valda's Spire of Secrets, which does include an Evocation and Transmutation limit (except at certain levels). The one on their blog is an older version, evidently! I'll adjust the link when I get the chance; I wouldn't want to mislead. I might revisit this -- BG3 has a more limited spell list, so I'm not against opening things up again on principle.
thank you for the quick reply , but could i make a request ? i find that charisma is way too useful , but also makes barbarian rather starved for stats (str, dex, con and cha) , is it possible to make a alternate file with constitution as the spellcasting modifier ? i would do it myself but i have no idea how to edit mods on bg3 , only bethesda games
Yeah, I do understand this. 5e does have something of a Charisma bias, especially with the Artificer not making the official cut. And splitting your stats four-way can feel bad, even if being a little MAD comes with the territory for third-casters and the like (and unlike Barbs they only really need the one physical stat!).
I won't change the main file, since I think it swings the balance a lot for me to just change it casually, but I can probably upload an alternate version later today, when I'm free. It shouldn't be anything too difficult: just flipping a switch somewhere from "Charisma" to "Constitution".
Silly question, but just wanna be sure. If you multiclass with another spellcaster, can you use their spells while raging? Or does it only apply to the barbarian spells
Spells you learn from levelling up as a Rage Mage can only be cast while Raging, but spells from other sources should work both in and out of a Rage. They'll also keep the Rage going, if it's active.
If you do multiclass, you should be able to upcast your Rage Mage spells using whatever spell slots you have available (though these ones will still only work while Raging).

Enjoy your mods regardless!

(ignore, found the answer)
