Hi, please note I am no longer actively modding so all my current mods are in their final version.

I haven't made any changes since Patch 8 dropped so if there area any issues, I'd recommend you look for an alternative mod that adds something similar!

is it just me or does cheap shot not work with melee for anyone else?

I downloaded this mod and tried having it at the top of the load order and at the bottom, but I still have an issue when trying to multiclass one of my characters into Thief Rogue where the only subclass option is Thug. I have Thug because I want to use it on another one of my characters but it is preventing me from choosing other subclasses. I have Expansion (With Bladesinger) and other rogue subclass mods if that helps.

I believe there might be issues with the Patch 7 merging (which this and my other mods use) that interfere with multiclassing. It seems to be a known issue but I haven't seen any mention of a fix yet. Hopefully Larian puts out a hotfix eventually.

Hey I really like the flavour of your subclass but I'm having a couple issues.

First of all, I'm not getting the Extra Attack at 5. Without it the class is really underpowered. I am getting Trip Up and Merciless Strike. I'm not sure if I'm getting Bully (tbh I forgot to check. I imagine it's under a character's passives list on their inventory page?). Also, while the subclass DOES give the proficiencies it lists in your description, those proficiencies don't show up as something the subclass provides when you choose it at lvl 3. Just a cosmetic thing, but worth noting.

For the record I'm using the Compatibility Framework (loaded last), the Community Library (loaded first), and a couple other rogue subclass mods like "Azzazzin" and "Fencer". Oh and I tried both the version on NMM and on the official mod manager in-game.

Finally, bugs aside, I had an idea to improve the flavour of the class: it'd be cool if Thug received a variation of monk's "Martial Arts: Bonus Unarmed Strike" (minus the monk weapon part) so that a Thug can use their bonus action either to shove, or to use an unarmed strike. Getting 1 lvl of Monk is sorta an alternative, but the "monk weapon" aspect means you can't use two handed weapons. It'd be nice to smash someone a couple times with a greataxe and follow up with a kick!

Anyway thanks for making the mod! Great subclass idea.

Hi thanks for having a look, I've fixed the issue with Extra Attack so should show up at Level 5 now as intended. I've had a look at the proficiencies not being visible but I can't see what's being done being different from my subclass and those already in the game. Since the proficiencies work and it's not majorly disruptive, I'll likely leave this one as is.

I like the bonus unarmed attack idea and it's one I've used in my Savage Subclass mod, this mod is primarily in it's finished state outside of bug fixes but I always appreciate feedback. I'll see if I can roll your ideas into any future mods I might make. Thanks again!

Ooo I'll have to check out Savage! Haven't taken a look yet.

And you fixed it! Thanks for addressing the issue so quickly, Extra Attack now works properly.

Sorry to be annoying but having checked again it doesn't appear like Bully is working. It shows up on the level-up page when you level, but it doesn't add itself to "Notable Features", nor is it a passive on the class spell page. I'm also not noticing a change to Shove behaviour.

Thanks again for being so quick to reply/update. Great mod, and keep up the good work!

EDIT: Your other subclasses look awesome! I'm gonna try a bunch of 'em out. Just a li'l suggestion for naming the mods: it helps to put the class name (e.g. Thug - Rogue Subclass) in the mod title because I'm not sure how else to search mods for a particular class. The DA subclasses might be hard to find via search because they don't have the class name in the title.

I updated Bully not showing as a Passive, you can tell this was my first mod! I've tested Bully and it looks to work on my side (enemies get knocked Prone when Shoved).

Not sure what you mean by the title of the mod since from what I can see the mod is already called "Thug - Rogue Subclass"?

It would be awesome to see this expanded out to support level 20 progression.

I wouldn't rule it out completely, but between tweaking my previous mods and always working on a new one I'd find it hard to find the time! Maybe when I've run out of things to do I'll revisit this idea though, thanks for your comment.

fighting style being later so class isn't frontloaded makes sense, but I feel like it would make more sense at lvl 6, with Bully being put at lvl 9. Bully seems insanely strong for the time you get it, and I feel like there isn't really a reason to use Trip Up when Bully prones almost guaranteed as a BA. Just feedback from looking at the class, haven't had a chance to test it yet.

While I'd argue that most subclasses have their strongest features by Level 6, I do see your point that it makes for a smoother progression. Will make your suggested changes!

Someone made a custom LoRA which can spit out custom icons based on any class description that tends to really fit the style of BG3, check it out here:

Could you do a compatibility patch with https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/7753 so that the unarmed version stacks for purposes of the total unarmed dice?  Possibly also with normal monk? Possibly also with https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2266?  How would the various systems work together or not work together between the three? I'd like to figure out ways to synergize things!

Hi thanks for showing an interest in the mod. I'll admit I just started modding two days ago so implementing that is a bit beyond me currently! If you can direct me to somewhere that shows how it's done I'd have no problem adding it assuming it's not too hard

Found this subclass through your Brawling Fighter. Both of them look great, I'm definitely gonna try them on a new playthrough!

Also, thanks for adding Unarmed to this, a Str-based rogue is BEGGING to punch people in the gut, lol.

Just tested and Unarmed strikes can trigger Cheap Shot so it should be solid but I'd recommend taking Tavern Brawler as a Feat. If you'd like I can do some testing and see if I can change the Thug's Unarmed attacks to scale the way a Monk's do.

If you wouldn't mind testing that, I would appreciate it, but I think it would be fine as a primary strength scaling build as opposed to dexterity. I believe monks choose whichever stat is higher for flexibilty but after reading your description it looks like the focus here is on strength which is a neat take on rogue.

Im glad to hear that it works well with your implementation and tavern brawler. It's great to be able to play an unarmed fighter that isn't exclusively monk.

Thanks for sharing your work by the way!

No problem, I've already made an alternative version of the mod that adds Unarmed scaling lol. I'll add it to the files anyway in case you or anyone else is interested.
