Hi! What beard is that? Is it a custom made?
If it is, would you consider releasing it for Tav, too?

I don't know why people whine in the comments. He looks more like a rockeboy he should.

Hi, it's one of the regular beards from the character creator. Thank you for the positive comment! I don't really take the comments to heart since the mod was mostly for myself and it's doing pretty well on the in-game mod manager, but it's still nice to hear from people liking it.

Honestly don't know what that other commenter was waffling about, this suits his character immensely and you can still very much /tell/ it's Gortash as it keeps alot of his original traits. I'd even argue it suits him better than his original design. I don't usually download character overhauls, but this is too good to pass on ^_^

You're a genius! This is such an improvement. Now I can *actually* headcanon my gorgeous Durge falling in love with him before she got bonked and tadpoled. Would you also consider adding a darker color option for hair & beard? Something closer to a true black? :D

Hi there, I think I could make that happen :D. I had tweaked it already just slightly to take some of the blue tone out of his hair, and I could take it closer to true black fairly easily.

I've added an optional file on here with darker hair which you can use to replace the original mod file. I had to fully delete the original file in my own game mod folder to get the darker hair to load, just as a heads up. And obviously, you can let me know if you have any issues and I'll do my best to troubleshoot (very new to modding, but it's working on my end and a very small in-game change which shouldn't interact too weirdly with anything else afaik).

I took the slider almost all the way to the edge of black, so it's definitely closer to black now. Hopefully enough for your liking!

YEEESSS THANK YOOOUU!! <3 Our boy is tall, dark, and HANDSOME! :D I still need to replace my old laptop before I can load it up in-game, but I'll def let you know if I run into any issues down the road!

Did you use one of the standard beards from the character creator? I wanna turn my Durge's guardian into Gortash and use the same one, or the closest equivalent. I assume the hair is "Bramble Thicket", but is the beard "Jawclinger"? Gorty's looks fuller & fluffier in these pics.

Of course! Other people seem to be liking and downloading the darker hair option as well, so it works out. Yes, both the hair and beard are from the standard in game options. In the game editor, it didn't show their names while I was selecting them, but looking, it's definitely Bramble Thicket for the hair and Jawclinger for the beard.

I'm not sure why it might look thicker/fuller on Gortash and not on player characters/guardians, but I agree with you that it does. Maybe it could be that it's his base skin complexion/head model which makes it like that? He has a lot of kind of unkempt looking stubble in his normal design which might be coming through the beard to make it look darker/more full. Versus in the character creator, that's not an option.

Mmmm yeah, could be his natural stubble layer coming through. Either way, it looks great :)

Well it's different, but certainly not a "better Gortash". Always funny to me how his appearance is so wildly criticized yet every one of the matter mods to change him just... aren't fitting. Makes it seem like the BG3 devs really landed on a design that works for reasons that are hard to explain.

"Better" is subjective. I certainly prefer this look over him looking like a Final Fantasy character with a midlife crisis.

Modders calling changes 'better' or a 'fix' is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. It's different, but not better than what a professional game developer with years of experience made. His original character design is really good. The only issue is the 'handsome younger' man part but I guess the narrator has a type.

To be entirely honest with you, I initially named it Alternate Gortash, but my friend I was chatting with while finishing up the mod told me to put Better Gortash lol. I felt a little bit awkward naming it this way myself but went with it. Thank you for the feedback that it wasn't just in my head. I'll likely adjust it to be what I initially intended with the name of the mod.

Better Gortash is a better marketing for a title, some could say.

Thats said, he looks like a guy that wants to sell me something and i ain't buying it.
