I like to think he lied about his age out of insecurity when he was alive and bribed an official to let him edit his documentation, our mid life crisis princess
plus a bunch of other factors that point to Astarion being of middle-aged-crisis age
I never thought about it that way but I just brushed up on the signs someone is going through a midlife crisis and oh my gosh, Astarion checks almost every single box.
I mainly base my thesis on the mirror scene and how he reacts to possibly having wrinkles and also his main writer saying the concept for him was aging rockstar, which sounds about right for him haha. Would he drive a motorcycle or, even worse, a Cybertruck?
I think the Cybertruck might be a bit *extra* even for Astarion's tastes, but like, I also don't see him driving a traditional motorcycle like a Harley.... maybe a crotch rocket? 🤔
Yeah, I'm not sure I did my equivalencies perfectly, but since Halsin is 350 and looks older than Astarion and Minthara is I believe 250 and looks younger I knew it had to be somewhere inbetween (and that I wanted it to still have a 39 in there). That being said, I'm not sure Larian is 100% faithful to how elves would biologically look at those ages, I feel like an elf at 350 might technically look younger than Halsin since they're supposed to be a particularly youthful looking race. But, to be as canon compliant as possible, I found a middle-ground that I think works for the general DND lore and the game.
