I just tested the mod with patch 8 and it appears to be working as intended.
Again, if possible I would recommend moving away from the mod, especially with new campaigns, but also for old save files requiring it. Above I pinned a migration guide.
As far as I can tell the mods I recommend are not missing anything, which this mod here offers. If you miss any faces, hair, or horns please let me know and I will look for additional replacement mods.
I'm starting a new campaign but would like to have access to more hair options for companions, and right now i see only the default hair options, not the ones available from mods, even after testing this mod, nothing changed, not sure if i'm missing something.
Yep, it is activated under the "installed" tab in game, i am using like 20 other mods, but none that might conflict with this one as far as i'm aware, maybe i misunderstood what this mod does? Is it supposed to add npc exclusive customization options to your Tav or is it the other way around? Cause that's what i'm trying to do, add Tav hair mods to npc companions..
No, this mod only adds more customization options to character creations, such as hair, faces, and horns which are usually only used by NPCs. You are looking for Appearance Edit Enhanced by Eralyne. That should do the trick.
It can be helpful to have the companion faces and hair available though, if you only want to change the companions appearance slightly. If you are new to this mod however, I recommend Faces and Hairstyles Compilation and Elf races shared faces by Elmvick. Those should have the same effect as this mod.
I was able to replicate most of this mod with Faces and Hairstyles Compilation and Elf races shared faces by Elmvick. The faces and hairstyles mod should also include all the horns from the Tiefling NPCs, even though it doesn't state this explicitly. Feel free to let me know if you find anything is missing. I'm happy to add to the list of substitute mods.
I'm currently the volunteer maintainer of this mod for patch 7, but Alana is still the original author. I have not added anything to this mod, only removed parts of it, which were incompatible with patch 7.
Catch All Thread for issues with the initial release. Please answer to this thread, if there are any problems with the Mod.
Disclaimer: I will not re-engineer the GUI changes AlanaSP made for the controller menu. If you are missing those try fixing it yourself or commission a proper modder to do so.
No more Deity Selection It was brought to my attention that the ClassDescriptions were for unlocking deity selection for every class. I recommend using another mod for that instead: Deity Tag Activator. It works well for me.
I think keeping the mod to character customization only makes it cleaner and less prone to incompatibility. Also there are at least some users of the original mod, which want that functionality separated. So much so, that there was a mod just to disable the deity selection again.
So unless there is high demand for it, I wont amend the mod with the deity selection. Feel free to let me know of any other issues though.
Thanks for verifying this. I'm not sure if the original mod supported multiplayer. I only used mods for single player so far. At the moment I don't know how I would go about fixing this.
is it possible that this wont work in patch 8? usually my customization mods haven't been impacted that much but since the original hasn't been updated for a while this is my only saving grace
It is possible. I have not tested it, as I don't have access to Patch 8 and I probably wont have until the public release.
That said, I don't think it is likely. I removed most of what could be incompatible with future patches at this point. They would have to change the UUIDs of the faces or fundamentals of the Character Creation API, in order to break this mod.
If it breaks, I will try to fix it after the public release, when I find the time for it. No promises on ETA though.
I still got absolutely no idea what this mod do... is it like add new hair or something? if yes will this comflict with other hair mod like Tav hair salon, silver hair, etc?
It adds heads, hair, and horns to character creation, which are usually reserved for NPCs or Companions.
It only adds options, which are already in the game. It should not conflict with any mods, which add custom hair assets.
I only created the mod to convert patch 6 saves, which required the old mod, to patch 7. And I shared it to help other people with a similar problem. If you do not require the old mod, I highly recommend Faces and Hairstyles Compilation and Elf races shared faces by Elmvick instead.
thank you so much for updating this and taking the time to do so!! you're a lifesaver, I was sad I couldn't get to recreate a character of mine without it :)

Elmvick's Faces and Hairstyles Compilation and Elf races shared faces should cover most everything that is included in this mod.

Are you using other mods, which might conflict with this mod?

We double-checked the enabled mods and load order. We use Vortex. Game version v4.59.32.596

But again, I recommend to switch to newer better maintained mods, like Faces and Hairstyles Compilation and Elf races shared faces by Elmvick. I will post a migration guide, for those who want to migrate before patch 8 to avoid issues.
