To reiterate, there are 4 files, 2 main and 2 optional.
The 2 main files, "Highlight Everything Revised - Everything Else" and "Highlight Everything Revised - Light Sources" can be used on their own or both at the same time. The 2 optional files, "Highlight Everything Revised - Small Fixes" and "Improved World Tooltips - Updated Optional File" are updated versions of said mods. There versions are standalone, i.e. do not use them alongside the original mods. They are uploaded here until their respective authors update them because the main "Highlight Everything Revised" mod breaks a couple of interaction with items on the prologue nautiloid, and the "IWT - BH2 - No Counter - Hide Looted" optional file from the "Improved World Tooltips" mod flat out doesn't work because the mod hasn't been updated for patch 7 yet.
Ideally, your load order should be as follows: 1) Highlight Everything Revised - Small Fixes (or the original "Highlight Everything Revised" file once it is updated) 2) Highlight Everything Revised - Disable Kitchenware 3) Highlight Everything Revised - Disable Rotten Food 4) Highlight Everything Revised - Everything Else 5) Highlight Everything Revised - Light Sources 6) Improved World Tooltips - Updated Optional File (or the original "IWT - BH2 - No Counter - Hide Looted" file once it is updated). This file directly overrides the game files so it's position in the load order doesn't matter.
The idea of these addons is to remove visual clutter by disabling tooltips for unimportant objects. "Unimportant" for me means every item or object that is either decorative (like chairs, beds, generic interactable objects like globes, mirrors etc), clearly not supposed to be visible (%%%No Destub, different "Objects" etc) or worth less than 5 gold when sold (unless they are used in a quest or have some other notable interaction). These addons are not supposed to touch any containers or other valuable/quest items so let me know if you see anything that should have a tooltip shown but doesn't.
I'm going to stick with patch 7 for a bit while I wait for the other mods that I use to be updated, but let me know if this mod causes any issues with patch 8.
The Highlight Everything Revised mod and its addons seem to still work in patch 8, but IWT is hidden on Nexus, and the revised version available here in the optional files is blocked by the IGMM from even appearing in the mod list. I can only enable it in patch 8 for a save I already had from patch 7 that used IWT. It seems like that's going to be the primary problem on patch 8, as IWT as a standalone mod appears to have been abandoned.
I don't currently use BG3MM as I was just looking to use a few QOL mods that I could enable in-game. But I would imagine it shouldn't have a problem with enabling it. From what I understand, the IGMM automatically blocks mods with certain deprecated dependencies (the issue with IWT might have something to do with the changes to ImpUI, though I don't remember now what its dependencies actually were).
Fyi it does also appear as if there is a bug with the new version of Shadow Blade with the Highlight Everything Revised - Small Fixes mod file enabled (see it mentioned in one of the posts below, as well as in the bug reports).
Since you seem more active than the original mod author. Would you consider taking over or at least update the main Highlight Everything Revised mod for patch 8? It currently has a bug with the new shadow blade spell that makes it unusable.
I though I did this but I did it in the original mod's page and not this one.
This is what happens when you summon shadow blade with Highlight Everything Revised - Small Fixes enabled. I was able to confirm this by only having this mod enabled and nothing else. Removing the mod fixed the issue.
Once you realize there are a bunch of valuable items and containers everywhere that you cant even see by highlighting stuff, thats when you realize you need a mod like this.
Is this incompatible with the luxuries-addon on the Highlight Everything Revised Tooltip mod's page? Or is the addon just out of date and that's why it doesn't work
Is there a way to remove the toggle part of the "Improved World Tooltips"? Perhaps by editing something in the "WorldTooltips.xaml" file? I tried looking on my own but can't figure it out, even waybackmachine'd the other variants of the original mod but it's too complex for me lol. I realize it's an incredible non-issue and I know I could just not use IWT in the first place but the colored item names and icons are too good to pass. I must be the only one who likes spamming the highlight button...
Edit: After bumbling about it some more I managed to figure something out. I commented out lines 1372~1402 (below "controls toggle option (blahblah)" and added <ls:LSInputBinding BoundEvent="ShowWorldTooltips" Command="{Binding SetShowWorldTooltipsCommand}" CommandParameter="{StaticResource FalseValue}" EatInput="False" TriggerOnRelease="True" /> <ls:LSInputBinding BoundEvent="ShowWorldTooltips" Command="{Binding SetShowWorldTooltipsCommand}" EatInput="False" /> below it, which seems to do the trick so far (as in, it's back to press-to-highlight and doesn't crash the game). There are probably dozen lines of unnecessary code after this related to the whole spyglass widget that might or might not cause problems later on, but as I have no idea what I'm doing this patchwork solution seems fine for now.
Funny you should mention that, I was literally in the process of updating the mod. Finished polishing Act 2 and the Rivington part of Act 3. Not a lot was needed to be done to be honest, but it's still a nice little QoL update. Make sure to also check the updated readme file. Now the only thing that's left is to review the Lower City itself. Hopefully patch 8 won't break this mod because that would not be ideal.
Is there a way to edit what gets shown or not? Think I have everything setup correctly but I'd like to hide some camp supply items like IE half-eaten apple. Either a way to say hide anything under 5 or 10 supplies or just hide all supplies on the ground. Thanks
Unless someone creates a separate patch to include those items, no. This submod only removes trash items / useless tooltips, and even though there's enough camp supplies in the game for hundreds of long rests, those items do still technically have a purpose.
