As far as I've tested, my mods worked on Patch 6. You could try just updating to Patch 7, the update has been out for almost 2 months now, I think most mods have been updated.
Hey, I came here because Takikun's Unvisualize Volo's Eye was removed and was redirected to here, but when i replaced that mod with this one I could not reload my save and got these warnings. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance
I haven't seen those errors before... you could try removing my mod and installing an older version, or you could use the one I uploaded to the in game mod manager.
I'm really sorry that this is happening to you but I'm not sure if I can help, this mod is purely visual and shouldn't affect save files, the Larian Studios discord server has a support channel where they can help you out.
I just don't have enough details / knowledge to give any specific advice, sorry.
hii so i just downloaded the mod (console) and my eye is still the one volo gave me? is this supposed to happen or does it just not work if you already have the eye?
Hi! Thanks so much for this mod. Do you have any insight into whether this will come to console soon?
My understanding is that they wont approve mods with bugs. Is there any chance devs will get involved to resolve the glowing eyes issue knowing that it's a barrier for console players?
I've looked into the 'glowing eyes bug' but it wasn't an issue for me at all. Look at the bug thread for more info. And yeah the mod's been submitted but it just takes a while for the devs to look at a mod...
I don't know if it's my own stupidity, however when I logged in my eyes were fine. I'm using Neo's eyes or whatever. My eyes were fine but when I went to a new save that wasn't so far behind it's showing the eye and then when I load in all my eye options have no pupils, it's either all black or all white. :((
This is an issue with the Eyes of the Beholder mod! Just make sure the Main/Library mod is first in your load order, presets after that. You can check their page to be sure, my mod doesn't alter any textures! It just turns Volo's eye off
This appears to be untrue. Installing this on Patch 6 causes all mods to behave as if uninstalled, which typically happens when a Patch 7 mod that is incompatible with Patch 6 is installed.
I assumed it would work since the change is very minor and the file structure was exactly the same. I wanted to link you to the previous version of this mod (which broke after patch 7), but it appears that it's been taken down. I'll look into the reason and I might find a way to upload a version that works with Patch 6, although I am a bit busy right now.
Edit: After talking to other mod authors, they told me there might be an issue if you use the Magic Mirror mod, but that otherwise there should be no issue using this mod on Patch 6.
Extra note, which might be related, this exact error occurs when the old version of the mod is installed on Patch 7. Might be worth checking if it's still installed, since I had this issue when updating to P7.
Hey! Just confirming what evieamity says, when I installed this mod and tried to load my save, it came up with a warning that all my mods in the save were now disabled, despite them still being installed and enabled, so I didn't load my save and just quit. Uninstalling this eye mod fixed that, and my save loaded just fine again.
I don't have the magic mirror mod. I am just on the patch 6 beta, because I didn't want to update to patch 7 because I didn't want to go through doing all my mods again, so all my mods are still pre-patch 7 releases too. And everything works!
My modlist is: ModFixer, Native Mod Loader, Achievement Enabler, BasketEquipmentSFW, New Character Creation Presets WIP, Tav's Hair Salon - Tav's Hair Pack, ImprovedUI, Tutorial Chest Summoning - Scriptless, Carry Weight Increased, Purchaseable Camp Clothes, Tutorial Chest Camp Clothes, Icon and Race Patches for Tav's Hair Salon, Aether's Half-Illithid Begone, OIO - Overexplained Interaction Options, LSLib/DivineTool.
I'll look into this later, I'll re-installing patch 6 to test it out.
My current theory is that the way the new mod toolkit packages mods is somehow incompatible with patch 6. (Because the actual contents of the mod are identical to the previous versions which did work on patch 6.)
Maybe it's because I included a thumbnail which is used by the new in-game mod manager? I'll try repackaging the mod with some 'old' community tools, which were compatible with patch 6, and then get back to you.
Update: I rolled back to patch 6 and used my mod without changing anything about it. My advice is to stop using vortex and start using BG3MM, as it might cause issues.
Hello. Tried your mod on Patch 6 with Appearance Edit Enhanced. Breaks my load order like any Patch 7 mod does. Very sad about it, would love to remove volo's eye. Maybe reload and give it to... To who? With all these cool appearance mods volo's eye just ruins the beauty :(
Thank you for looking into this for me! I appreciate the time you've taken!
Would there be a way for me to manually install this instead of using BG3MM? I'd rather avoid using another mod manager, esp just for one mod. If not that's totally cool, I'll just have to put up with volo's eye haha
The way vortex handles mods is just different from BG3MM, and I don't know that much about them, so I don't know how you'd do that, but I can offer you an alternative way that should take like 3 minutes.
If you have Script Extender installed, and can't get my mod to work, you could try to manually remove Volo's Eye using the console. Simply open up BG3, load your save, then press CTRL + F12, it'll open a new window with a console, press enter to start your input and type RemoveCustomMaterialOverride(GetHostCharacter(), "dc46662a-d909-4df5-ad12-50a524150aff"); Then press enter, when you save your game it should stay removed, also quick warning, if you close the console menu, it closes the entire game.
If you for some reason want to enable Volo's eye again, you can do the same command, but swap out 'Remove' for 'Add'.
Also for my test I removed all other mods, which might not be completely accurate, but if I had to install the old patch 6 versions of all the mods I was using... (because I'm playing on Patch 7, which works flawlessly for me!) there would've just been too many variables to work with.

UPD: Nevermind, i just realized this is the only version. Thx for your work, it's great!
