This is a really well-thought out adjustment, it's always bothered me that Lae'zel doesn't have githyanki weaponry! I really like what you've chosen for all of these :D
I tihnk cud be coz she was captured and had to rush out with whatever she found lying around or sth? But yeah,this mod is perfect getting the companions more tuned esp lazeal with her gith weapons,she does have her armour after all
And now I'm wondering if there's a cannonical ruling about how Illithids treat their prisoners in terms of gear? Do they trust thier Psionics enough to keep them subdued and keep them armed for better cannon fodder? Or do they toss all their gear since it's of more use to non-illithids than illithids?
I know you already answered this question, but I wasn't sure what the answer was after reading and rereading it: which mod comes first in the load order? The Main File and then Wyll's optional File, or his file then the Main?
I downloaded this mod but it doesn't seem to be working. Lae'zel is still using her long sword. I was wondering if I installed it correctly or if I missed something.
You probably have another mod editing Lae'zel's equipment in some way and it's loaded after this one. This mod is STRICTLY incompatible with any other mod that changes companion equipment even slightly.
Any plans to make this compatible with other mods? I only want starting weapons yet using this mod removed a circlet that I had added to Lae'zel.
Also messes with Karlach body mods and Shadowheart starting armour.
A version with just the gear in the tutorial chest would be amazing :) Or separate by each companion and armour & weapons perhaps? Since you don't really change the armour it's a bit frustrating having to choose between this and other mods despite the awesome starting weapons.

I know, it'd require DotN as a dependency, which maybe isn't ideal (maybe an optional patch?), but in my head lore it's canonical.
*thinks aloud* What I really need is an MCM-based tool that let's me configure my new game loadout by choosing from gear in any of my armour & weapon mods... heh
