with 1.3 the mod has undergone some necessary changes, please make sure to follow these steps exactly before updating or you might crash:
1. Unequip every item from this mod into your inventory 2. Make a new manual save 3. Quit the game and disable/delete AdamantineGith.pak 4. Load the save from step 2. and overwrite it with a new save 5. Quit the game and update/enable AdamantineGith.pak
Sorry for the inconvenience, without official mod support things are a bit shaky.
Second of all, I wish the Medium Armor for the body used the model variant worn by Kith'rak Therezzyn, in Creche Y'llek. It's basically the same as the Githyanki Medium Armor that's already available to the player, except it has better shoulders and also protects the knees. As far as I know, that NPC is the only one who wears that specific variant.
Lastly, it would be kinda cool if there was a version of this mod that had Adamantite Forge Molds for these, so that players could make their own armor (rather than buying the finished pieces). But, I'm guessing that would be a LOT more work to make.
Sadly most Githyanki armour made by Larian is Githyanki exclusive so I chose models that work for every race instead. The adamantine mold idea is beyond my skill level, though I agree it would be very cool! The mod will stay as-is for now, feel free to alter the files to your liking though.
I see. I suppose I didn't consider Githyanki exclusivity to be a con, as I play mostly Githyanki. If I wanted to do this myself, are there any guides you could recommend? So far I've only made a couple of dyes. So I wouldn't claim to be an experienced modder of BG3. I have no idea how easy/hard it would be to look up a specific armor, worn by a specific NPC. But, I'd be willing to give it a try. Any info would be appreciated. :)
Sure, I used the template files from AnteMaxx to get started, you can find them at the bottom of my mod description. There are also two links for the modding tools in case you need them as well. I'd also recommend using Notepad++.
If you only want to change the appearance it should suffice to unpack my mod files, edit merged.lsx and alter the ParentTemplateId value of the "Adamantine Githyanki Half Plate" entry to the ID of your choice found in the game files via modders multitool.
Thanks a ton for this info and I'll definitely give it a try. I'm still not too clear on how to obtain the ParentTemplateId that I'm looking for, but maybe that'll be more self-explanatory than I'm imagining it will be, once I start doing it.
I probably should get around to releasing the dye mod I made for Githyanki armor, as (imo) it looks pretty darn good on them. But I'm not sure how to upload it with all the vortex bells-n-whistles.. I haven't done much serious modding since Morrowind, and only one small mod for Oblivion, so I have a lot of catching up to do.
And yes, notepad++ is an invaluable tool! I write a lot of AutoHotkey scripts (particularly for extending gamepad functionality), and I can't imagine trying to do so with nothing but Window's stock text editor. That would be awful! xD
Hey, seems to be an awesome mod. I just discovered it today and installed it via MM. After choosing the free version and loading the game it doesn't appear. Is this an issue of patch 4? Also: The mod always seems to disable itself in MM, and after each start, I have to drag it to the right (active side) again.
I'm using the same Mod manager, and have the script extender and everything. I even tried both versions of the mod (reinstalling as per your instructions). Still, nothing... your mod seems fun though :) Hat could it be?
Could you make sure to click this to save the load order before launching the game? The active side in the mod manager is the left side, not the right. It sounds like your load order file is out of date, hopefully this helps!
Interesting. Is it possible for you to add an editable .txt file hat can be placed in the BG3 folder so we can customize the stats of the armor just like the Basket Full of Equipment mod done by AnteMaxx?
hey is it possible to convert some of the other male githyanki armor from npcs to this? i realize that male gith npcs have very different armor when compared to your player male gith pcs (male gith npcs have actual pants lol)
Hey after the new update the the armor "Vlaakith's Decree" now has clipping issues with the Githyanki's hand. This remains an issue EVEN after following the steps you provided. Is there a way you can discover why that is because it only happened after the new update that came out?

BTW
I love the character model in the screenshots. Where did you get it? Is it from some mod?

What's going on?
Greetings...
which mod manager are you using? I personally use BG3 Mod Manager from LaughingLeader, the mod is working as intended on my end.
I'm using the same Mod manager, and have the script extender and everything.

not the right. It sounds like your load order file is out of date, hopefully this helps!
Cheers!
the mod will stay as-is for now, maybe this mod is more to your liking?
