thanks for this. It makes the stat boosting items actually work for longer and can make them build defing instead of getting tossed as soon as you reach the cap.

Just finished up my 5th run last night. I'll be upgrading to patch 7 either today or tomorrow and then I can get you a definitive answer, but based on what I've heard there shouldn't be anything in my mod that'll cause issues with patch 7.

Well I just tested it and it's not patch 7 compatible. I'll update it once I figure out why, which could take a while.

Whoops, I accidentally tested my other mod the other day when I meant to test this one. This one does work on patch 7.

Love this mod. Makes the items boosts make more sense. Any chance you might consider removing the max stat limit on the items? I have a thief that has 20 Dex, and so cannot get the full benefit of the Gloves of Dexterity from this mod as it currently exists.

Glad you like it. I don't really want to have two versions to maintain and I think the balance is already a bit to the OP side so I'm going to decline.

However a simple stat change like this is pretty easy to do and I can give you a few pointers if you want to do it yourself.

      • Download and run the Modders Multitool https://github.com/ShinyHobo/BG3-Modders-Multitool
      • Get the zip file for my mod, unzip it and drop the pak file into the big box.
      • Find the now unwrapped mod and open up the Armor.txt file in Notepad or something similar.
      • Use search to find the line:data "Boosts" "Ability(Dexterity, 4, 22);RollBonus(Attack, 1)"
      • Replace the 22 with, e.g., 24.
      • Take the root folder of the now changed mod files and drop them into the big box again. It should spit out a zip file and that's it.
      • Recommended optional steps are to rename some things in the meta.lsx file, like replace my name with yours (Author) and change the UUID to a freshly generated one (Multitool can do this or some websites can do this for you).

Ok I'm curious in regards to the "Gloves of Dexterity" on the Description page it says +2 yet in your photos it says +4 and I was wondering which one it is? I am Tracking this mod and I'm considering adding it for my next play through. Also did you change any of the original locations of the items?

Good catch! +4 Dex, meaning +2 Dex modifier. The picture is correct.

No locations have been changed, just ability stats (and the rarity colour of the Warped Headband of Intellect).

I love the concept of this mod so much. The originals almost always increasing your stats by an odd number bugged me in a weird way. Instantly adding to my load order.

As a little request, would you be willing to make a small consistency patch for Act 1 Zhentarim Hideout Vendor Sells Inaccessible Gear? It adds the Headband of Intellect from early access for purchase and increases intelligence to 19 instead of the Warped version's 17. As far as I saw, that's the only item in that mod that adds a stat boosting item like that.

      Glad you like it.

I was actually aware of that cut item and you might notice that the Warped Headband was the only item whose rarity I changed. I even considered removing the "Warped" from its name at one point. I wanted to give it the sort of purpose that I believe was originally intended but that Larian had to change because it was too OP because players were using game knowledge to stat dump INT knowing they could get it back easily with the 19 INT Headband.

Basically half the point of this mod was to take away stat dumping exploits as a option. (The other half was an attempt to bring a bit more logic to the way magic works here.)

However it would not be that difficult to add in so I'll try it out. Since you are the first commenter and asked nicely I've made a separate file that will mod the original headband. I'm thinking +6 INT and change it to "VeryRare"?

Excellent addition. Baldur's Gate 3 has really highlighted how OP the ability score setting items are, so I appreciate your work.
