To-do list for next update 01. Healing Incense Aura - Remove SFX 02. Symbiotic Entity - Remove SFX/VFX 03. Add a separate (optional) file with all SFX/VFX removed for all "weapon buffs" (Magic Weapon in particular) 04. Try to locate and disable smoke VFX given by certain pieces of equipment such as the Night Tribune Helmet (cover critical) or the Shadow Magic Headband. 05. Also try to locate the specific VFX for when the "light" spell is cast on an object and disable that. 06. Remove the Bless status effect given to players who purchase a Boney and stoney statue 07. remove the glow and sfx from the temp hp given by Duke Ravengard's Longsword. The ability on the sword is called Stirring Execution. 08. Make a add-on where the silhouette on all invisibility is removed, if that's not possible just remove the VFX. 09. remove the screen-blurring VFX and thundering SFX from illithid fly 10. remove resonance stone buff vfx 11. Remove Giant Form the "vrrroom" effect
Please God or the powers that be, help me find a mod that just removes the sound effects of buffs so my party isn't walking around like a gay disco ball wind chime.
To remove the visual effects, you'll need Less Annoying Magic Effects https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/482?tab=files&BH=0
To remove the sound effects, there is a lot more involved. (Abbreviated) 1) Get LSLib toolkit 2) Unpack mod of choice with your spell. 3) Navigate through the loose files until you reach the text file ..stats/generated/spell_target.txt. 4) Confirm spell is the actual spell and is not just referencing another 5) Add/edit data "SoundLoop" "" after the data "Icon" line 6) Repackage mod with LSLib and replace old mod with new mod in mod folder.
Sample Entry for removing sfx from Ultimate Guidance https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/541
new entry "GUIDANCE" type "StatusData" data "StatusType" "BOOST" data "DisplayName" "h9540ee6cg45d6g4d44g9165gd431ac43ca87;1" data "Description" "heab073adgda32g4f3bgbd79g117c9d7d2c63;4" data "Icon" "Spell_Divination_Guidance" data "SoundLoop" "" data "SoundStop" "Spell_Status_Guidance_MO_Stop" data "StackId" "GUIDANCE" data "Boosts" "RollBonus(SkillCheck,1d4);RollBonus(RawAbility,1d4)" data "StatusGroups" "SG_RemoveOnRespec" data "ManagedStatusEffectType" "Positive" data "ManagedStatusEffectGroup" ""
Tldr: Visuals are easy, but the sound is...a process.
Hi - does this need a patch 7 update? If so will you be doing it? I ask because I haven't updated because I'm mid playthrough. There is another modder https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/596 that just updated a different vfx/sfx remover. Maybe you guys would want to colaborate and one of you could focus elsewhere. I appreciate you. Thanks Edit: Oh wait! You wrote you are chosen!!!!! I haven't run without it sinced I first realized all you need to do is save the game and reopen it to get all the benefits!!!!! thanks!
When I install this mod other mods that I use (Permanent Longstrider/Enhanced Jump/Feather Fall) get reverted back to long rest, for both files. I'm looking to remove the annoying chiming sound effect that the Fiend Warlock has once they get "The Dark One's Blessing" and this is the only mod I can find so far that does so.
Do with this information what you will, but if anyone knows a mod that purely removes SFX and does nothing else that'd be great.
I see that the mod author might still be active on the mod page so hopefully they'll get to see this message. In any event, could you, please, share in a few words how you go about removing sound, and visual effects that you don't want? Thanks!
A very quick bug report, not sure if it's only me:
this mod makes haste completely avoid lethargic effect . Found out by removing mods one by one and this mod is definitely the reason at least in my load order.

Its a buff from Potent Robe.
Love the mod. It's one of the first ones I redownloaded whenever I was building multiple mod lists.
Just commenting to add a request to remove Vow of Enmity VFX in addition to Divine Favor
