Great mod! I did notice that this mod seems to give Lae'zel, Astarion, and Losiir longbows as their starting equipment rather than shortbows. As the mod only says that it adds the bracers, I thought it'd be worth pointing out!
Additionally, I was wondering if it'd be possible to have Lae'zel start with one of the non-magical Githyanki longswords, given that'd make sense lore-wise? I tried to give it a go myself in the file, but the UID that is referenced seems to add the +1 version of the sword, rather than the nonmagical one found here.
Been trying to get this to work, installed the file everywhere I could think that would make it work and still no bracers. Where exactly do I need to place it? Because there are two folders labeled Baldur's Gate 3, one in App Data, and one in Steam Apps, and the installation guide isn't all that helpful. If anybody who's managed to get it to work can tell me how they managed, it'd be much appreciated.
hey, it will need to go in the installation directory. it should be on your C: drive or wherever else you installed it in the steamlibrary folder. The file needs to be extracted to "Baldurs Gate 3".
I extract it, and the folder instantly gets sent to Data. The mod description says not to put it in Data, but I don't know where else to put it, I've tried putting the specific "Generated" folder in the Data one, I've tried putting it in the "bin", nothing works. Hell I've looked on the wiki and I'm starting to second guess if this mod actually does anything because there is are no "Githyanki Bracers", at least not any knowledge of them uploaded to the wiki, and no matter where I put the files I go to character creation, and she's not wearing the bracers.
This file includes starting gear of all companions. Won't it conflict with mods that give custom starting gear to other companions? Since it's a loose file, it will overwrite anything installed via mod manager.
Kind of, its just the default file but with the bracers added in. It is very simple to add the bracers to your own file, if you don't want to overwrite your changes. Just add a new equipment entry to Lae'zel.
"ARM_Gloves_Metal_Githyanki"
Edit: It doesn't seem to edit starting clothes when they're modified with a .pak, which seems to take priority. I have Gales concept armor installed, and he still has that equipped when I meet him. So, it seems my mod does not overwrite this.
You're welcome to look at how I've done this in my mod that does this same thing, in a way that doesn't conflict with the whole starting equipment file for everybody.

I don't mean "blah blah lore etc" but it's not a choice option unless you pick cleric in vanilla BG3.
and does that actually get roleplayed?
