    Would it be possible to have a version of this mod where it stays as a d12 for subsequent turns, but uses the bonus action instead of a reaction? This would make it work like the 2024 version of the spell. Being able to twin link it would be nice, but since it's concentration that won't be possible and i don't know if that's changeable while trying to keep the reactivating effect of the spell.

      Yeah this is going to be updated for the 5R rules, just haven't got around to it yet

    Doesn't that mod make the spell even worse though? It's one and only saving grace was that you can consistently deal some damage to a target once you landed this spell on them, and it's no longer the case with this mod? Don't get me wrong, it's fine, you do you, just that the way I see it this is a nerf mod, not an imporvement.

      Technically yes, however you'd need to use your action for 10 turns. I never found Witch Bolt worth casting for that reason, so I did this so you can use your action for something else and still deal some damage. Use it on a cantrip lol, you'll out-damage normal Witch Bolt.

    Sorry I may be a bit dumb but how exactly do you trigger the reaction in order to activate the witch bolt spell again?
    Do you have to be throwing a save or getting hit by an attack roll?

      I just changed the cost of Witch Bolt's re-activation, it's still a bonus bin spell. You activate it like you always do, it just has a chance to miss now.

    Is it possible to make the subsequent activations trigger automatically for no cost, other than maintaining concentration?

    I'm not really asking you to change it, more interested if it's actually possible.

    Edit: Seems like Phantasmal Force can do it. Although it requires using a condition.

      Yeah should be possible, I think someone did something similar in another spell enhancement mod though it might not have been Witch Bolt
