Baldur's Gate 3

Eldritch Edge is compatible with other class and subclass mods that modify other classes. This article will continue to be updated as mods are released and updated.

Fully compatible:

LvlUp and Extra ASI are compatible with Eldritch Edge with the following load order:
LvlUp > Eldritch Edge > Extra ASI > ASI Patch for LvlUp.

Other mods that modify progression may be compatible as long as certain conditions are met.
  • The mod does not modify the Warlock level 1 node.
  • The mod uses .pak files and not loose files
  • You set the load order so that Eldritch Edge loads after the progression mod.

There are various ways and to set your load order.  This is not a comprehensive list of methods.  Great new tools are being released for BG3.
  • Vortex   The Load Order tab in Vortex allows you to drag and drop mods in the order that you want.   There is a screenshot here illustrating this.
  • Laughing Leader's Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager (offsite)  This utility allows drag and drop load order management among other features.
  • Manually updating your modsettings.lsx file.

If you prefer to edit your modsettings.lsx directly, the following is a sample load order for Extra Ability Score Improvement and Eldritch Edge

?<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<save>
  <version major="4" minor="0" revision="0" build="53"/>

          </children>
        </node>

[ the rest of the file is omitted]
  • XPUnlocker =  c14c7bca-817a-4573-9dbc-19d4a637b4ef
  • Extra ASI = c50e0043-fe35-43a4-8d58-f76b5ba90065
  • Eldritch Edge = 3452abda-651b-4ead-9dde-9a535e225b05

Compatibility via manual Progressions.lsx updates

The progressions.lsx file is the lifeblood of all class and subclass related mods.   When it is deployed as a loose file, it must contain all entries for all classes and subclasses.   This means this file will overwrite any changes made by .pak file mods like Eldritch Edge.   You can make such a mod compatible but it involves some manual steps.   This is not the recommended approach but some will want to do this.

  • Adjust your load order so Eldritch Edge loads before the mod that uses the loose progressions.lsx.   If Eldritch Edge is not loaded, the reference that you will add to Eldritch Edge subclass will not work and the subclass will not appear in the game.
  • Add the highlighted XML in the subclasses section of your Warlock class node.   This is the subclass node for Zanassu, The Spider Demon.   As more subclasses are added, I will add them here.
    •  <node id="SubClass">            <attribute id="Object" type="guid" value="212e59bd-14f1-423a-8c73-6e053c72d3d7"/>  </node>
