  • Fixed bizarre bug where multiclassing into Blood Knight would show the progressions of an unimplemented class on level up, but reflect the correct abilities when you exited level up screen. I don't even know what caused this as the UUIDS are correct but I removed the problematic progressions. 


4.0:

The new subclass is finally finished! In time for Patch 7. I know it's been 84 years, but making over a dozen spells takes time. I also did a lot of polishing, including redoing all the icons. Ultimately I decided not to make this class exclusively Durge flavoured and therein found the motivation to complete it. So, here it is, Blood Knight! It's themed around blood magic, suitable for Durge, a Vampire, or any other blood-crazed weirdo. A couple of spells were inspired by Dragon Age. Blood for the Blood God and all that. Hope y'all like it. 

Blackguard:
  • I moved spell and such into a separate library to make future projects easier on myself. Let me know if there are any issues. 
  • Corrected Beyond Divine Smite patch. It should actually work now; I was fiddling with something and didn't realize I hadn't changed the records back. I've added it to the same list as Profane Smite rather than it being a prepared spell. Patch is for the AIO version.
  • Added patch for Pernicious Thread.
  • Redid all the icons to fit the game's style better. They were entirely too bright and I felt they clashed. I'm also trying to make my mods a little more cohesive overall. 
  • Added a patch with Oathbreaker tag removed for people who hate cool dialogue and reading. 
  • Caustic Smite effect changed from Nauseous to that of Corrosive Spit, because it makes more sense.

Shadoweaver:
  • Seize Undead renamed to Control Undead. It should also now be compatible with Control Undead Complete, let me know if it isn't. If you are using Control Undead Complete, you need to load that BEFORE this mod.  
  • Conjure Wraith actually summons a Wraith now, and now requires a useable corpse. 
  • Made Wraithform dismiss sound a little better. 
  • Sapping Burst renamed to Curse of Lethargy, in line with the Shadow Curse theme. 
  • Removed Frighten effect from Wall of Gloom. 

Bugfixes:
  • Corrected spell slot costs on Curse of Decay.
  • Darkening Smite no longer procs Profane Smite, for realsies this time. 
  • Fixed Wraithform having no casting sound.
  • Fixed Improved Aura of Desecration tooltip showing as Aura of Despair. 
  • Fixed Improved Aura of Despair tooltip showing as Aura of Despair. 
  • Added tooltip hovers for Aura passives.
  • Added tooltip icon for (hopefully) every passive and status hover. 
  • Some other things I definitely forgot to note and don't remember what they were.

Known Issues:
  • Sanguine Smite shows twice in the spell list. For the life of me I can't figure out why. 
  • I know Devour VFX is weird, I'll fix it when I inevitably have to patch something.

  • Shadow Strike no longer creates fire. Fixed tooltip incorrectly stating it applied Radiant and Fire damage on upcast. Upcasting referenced the wrong spell and thus casted a different spell, this has been fixed.

Remember to respec before updating. While the changes aren't huge, this update does make changes to progression and spells, so you do need to respec. Use Respec Spell, switch off of Blackguard, save your game, update the mod (and make sure you install the new requirements), and then you can spec back into Blackguard.
 
I've been making a lot of tweaks, balance changes, and bugfixes as I play through on HM while working on a new subclass and I've just decided to just go ahead and release those changes. Balance-wise, I think it's in a pretty good state now, at least from what I've played at lower levels. As I progress I'll continue to tweak things. 

The Subclass, Death Knight, which is heavily Necromancy focused, is very much still a WIP and will be released in the 4.0 update when I'm done. I've been busy so I don't have a timeframe, but it is coming along.

New requirements:

Blackguard:
  • By request, added Two-Weapon Fighting as a Fighting Style option.
  • Changed the hit VFX for Profane Smite interrupts.
  • Restructured spell slot progression a bit. I decided to just make the spell progression the same as a full Paladin 7/Sorcerer 13, since this entire class is structured like a Sorcadin anyway. You will now get a level 8 spell slot and I have added compatibility with 5e and 2e 8th level spells accordingly. You get one less level 6 spell slot as well. 
  • Updated spell list patches to include some of the new 5e spells: Antagonize, Feeblemind, Mind Blank, Alter Self, Dominate Monster. Alter Self may or may not have been there before, I don't remember tbh. But if it wasn't, it is now. 
  • Added patch for Beyond Divine Smite for those that wanted rainbow smites on my edgelord mcdarkness class. You need the original mod if you want them.
  • Tweaked Undead Mending to also work on Astarion even if you haven't used something like Undeath feat on him. 
  • Added Web, Inflict Wounds, and Hunger of Hadar to spell list. 
  • Renamed Aura of Terror to Aura of Despair like the OG, which is what I should have called it the first place. 
  • Tooltip icons should look much more crisp now. I tweaked them a bit.
  • Auras now upgrade to 9m at level 18, in line with Paladin. If you have trouble with them upgrading while you have them active, try reapplying. You can reapply Aura of Desecration by toggling it off.
  • Gave Profane Smite reaction a little more oomph in the VFX department. 

Shadoweaver:
  • Nerfed Aura of Desecration again. Radius reduced to 3m as it was never intended to be 8, I just goofed somewhere along the way and failed to notice. Added a toggle to turn it off. 
  • Aberrant Shadows reworked a bit. It's now a Hunger of Hadar-like spell instead of just regular darkness. It now persists and ticks for Necrotic damage after the initial hit. I would like to add Shadow Possession to this in the future but haven't gotten it to work yet. 
  • Reverted Shadow Meld back to a regular action. Decided I didn't like it costing a spell slot because I like to use shadow teleportation as an out of combat utility. Shadow Teleportation doesn't cost a spell either, so there. 
  • Rolled this on HM to test balance a bit better. Decided Mark of Putrefaction was a bit much and made suffering mode not painful enough. Mark of Putrefaction was instead moved to a level 4 concentration spell. 
  • To replace the level 1 oath ability, I've added Invoke Darkness. This is a 3 turn concentration-free Darkness spell that costs 1 Channel Oath, giving you the ability to cast Darkness early on and without having to spend spell slots on it, since darkness is a core part of the class. I went to great lengths to make this darkness very spooky, but it is still just a darkness spell. However it also extinguishes light sources like Extinguish Light does, and douses flames. 
  • Added Shadow Strike as a level 5 spell, because there wasn't a second level 5 spell and it bothered me. It's a cool punchy shadow fist. The spell is a reskin of Flame Strike that does Necrotic/Force and leaves a little darkness puddle.
  • Removed Hunger of Hadar (Necrotic Version) as 3rd level spell.
  • Moved Curse of Decay from level 4 spell to level 3, to make room for Mark of Putrefaction.
  • Shadow's Embrace renamed to Umbral Resilience. Moved to level 3.
  • Necrosis now does damage equal to half your Charisma modifier.
  • Moved Shadowsight to level 1. 
  • Added a new level 1 spell, Sapping Burst, as a ranged option to account for the removal of Shadow Meld as a level one spell. It's similar to Guiding Bolt, for the sad Paladin that is out of range. 
  • Enshroud no longer broken by movement. Sneak away. 

Bugfixes:
  • Fixed Dark Attunement still being in Shadoweaver list. It is now correctly a Blackguard passive. 
  • Removed an errant spell list added to Shadoweaver that didn't correspond to anything.
  • Level 6 Shadoweaver spells are now correctly added at Shadoweaver level 19 and not Blackguard level 19 and are now correctly defined as always prepared Oath Spells.
  • Minor tooltip correction to Necrotizing Smite, Disease is now properly shown as a status.
  • Venomous Smite condition no longer applies to undead, constructs, or those immune to poison. Corrected it being in the Light status group; it is now correctly Poisoned.
  • Caustic Smite properly upcasts to level 9.
  • Profane Smite interrupts should now be able to be cast at the 9th level.
  • Fixed a little red line on the top of the Oath Tenets icon. 
  • Tweaked the class icon a bit to fit the UI better. It clipped into text on the level up screen. Made the sword swordier.
  • Fixed level 2 spell slot being given at level 9 instead of 7.
  • Fixed a tooltip for Wall of Gloom; it applies Frighten, not Fear.
  • Fixed Wraithform not actually considering you tiny. 
  • Corrected Darkening Smite radius. Profane Smite interrupts will no longer proc off of it, as it had the unintended effect of being able to proc an extra smite on every target.
  • Fixed Undead Mending being able to target enemies.

Misc:
  • Changed some debuff icons to be more visually distinctive. 

Feats patches:
  • Removed some unnecessary entries, doesn't effect anything on the user end. Update it or don't, it does the same thing either way.

3.0: THIS IS A BIG UPDATE. RESPEC

This is a big update with a lot of bugfixes, balance adjustments, restructuring, and ability reworks, plus some new abilities. You need to respec before updating. Use Respec Spell or Appearance Edit Enhanced to do so. Respec off of Blackguard, update, and respec back onto it. 

Aside from bugfixes, these should be the last big changes until I expand subclasses. Shadoweaver is pretty much done now as is the base class. 

Requirement changes:
  • VFX Library by Shivero is now a requirement. 
  • 5e Spells is no longer a requirement.

New Spells:
  • Added Lay on Hands: Lesser Undead Mending and Lay on Hands: Greater Undead Mending. Now you can heal the Necronomicon ghoulies. No one else, though. These hands ain't divine. 
  • Added Caustic Smite to Blackguard level 5, which can be cast in melee or at range, similar to Branding Smite which has an option for both. Deals 2d6 Acid damage and inflicts 1 turn of Nauseated. 
  • Aura of Terror added to Blackguard level 6. This will be the level 6 aura across the board and level 7 aura will be unique to each subclass, in line with Paladin. Imposes disadvantage to enemy Attack Rolls and Saving Throws, as a counterpart to Aura of Protection. Hopefully class balance is overall better now.

Ability Adjustments:
  • Aura of Desecration moved to level 7. Tweaked the VFX to look a little spookier. Damage now scales off of your Charisma modifier like Aura of Hate does.
  • Aura of Shadows removed. As such, 5e Spells was removed as a requirement. Aura of Shadows previously used VFX for the cast.
  • Necrotizing Smite moved from Shadoweaver list to Blackguard. No visible change on the user end, I've just decided this isn't going to be exclusive to Shadoweaver when I add more subclasses. Darkening Smite will remain Shadoweaver-exclusive. Necrotizing Smite now costs a level 5 spell slot, on par with Contagion. Moved to level 17. Damage changed from 4d6 to 5d6 as the spell slot cost was changed.
  • Casting Umbral Assassin now dispels magical and non magical light near you. This includes burning (it always did this, but wasn't in the tooltip). Removed Once Per Short Rest requirement, since it's limited by Channel Oath charges anyway. 
  • Reworked Dark Attunement and moved it to be a Blackguard passive rather than Shadoweaver. It now gives Expertise in Stealth. 
  • Removed Sunlight Weakness. It's jank and doesn't register darkness or light properly. I've (hopefully) balanced the class better and don't feel it's necessary anymore. 
  • Custom icon for Shadowblend with some custom VFX, because looking cool is very important. 
  • Extinguish Light now douses fires. This does not apply to Hellfire because that would be silly. 
  • Tweaked Shadow Resurrection VFX a bit. 
  • Changed Wraithform VFX.
  • Shaded Soul now grants Expertise in Arcana. Removed Stealth proficiency bonus.
  • Black Knight now grants Expertise in Intimidation and Proficiency in Deception.

Icons:
  • Made an icon for Oath Tenets to match the rest. 
  • New Curse of Withering icon because I didn't like the old one. 
  • New Shadow Meld icon. Finally the AI was kind to me. 
  • Changed Shroud of Shadows Fly icon to match the passive icon.
  • Changed Shade Shield icon to look a bit more... shieldy. 
  • Changed Enshroud icon to look a bit less like a black hole. 
  • Resized Shadow Possessed icon to not get cut off.
  • Wraithform, Hunger of Hadar, and Aberrant Shadows icons are a little less bright and match the other icons better. These were some of the first I made and I didn't quite have the formula down yet. 
  • Flipped Profane Smite icon. It now points the same way as Divine Smite. 
  • Flipped Necrotizing Smite icon. Was this important? No. Did I do it anyway? Yes. 

Bugfixes:
  • Tons of code cleanups. I plugged my files into the stats validator until it stopped yelling at me, so hopefully this fixed bugs rather than creating them. 
  • Umbral Assassin icon corrected to match other class actions. Umbral Assassin should now correctly add your Charisma modifier to weapon attacks.
  • Tooltip corrections for Silencing Smite, Chilling Smite, Necrotizing Smite, Darkening Smite, Aura of Desecration, and Lay on Hands.
  • Fixed errors with Curse of Decay not applying damage correctly. 
  • Shaded Soul should now correctly apply proficiency bonus and Shadow Curse immunity should now work correctly. 
  • Fixed Shadow Possession icon not showing up and fixed tooltip.
  • Fixed Shroud of Shadow tooltip icon not showing correctly. 
  • Corrected Lay on Hands not being added if you multiclass into Blackguard. 
  • Necrotizing Smite hiteffect VFX should now be working as intended. 
  • Added upcasting for Shadow Meld and Shadow Resurrection.
  • Fixed Wraithform dismiss animation. 
  • All spells should be upcastable to the 9th level now, except Wall of Gloom, because it makes me want to uninstall and I haven't fixed it yet. 
  • Conjure Wraith now correctly allows you to conjure more Wraiths with upcasting. At the 5th level you can conjure 2, and 3 at 7th.

No Spell Prep SE 2.0.1:
  • Fixed an oopsie. It should work properly now.

2.0 No Spell Prep SE and Scroll Learning SE:

Updated these to utilize Script Extender so I don't have to maintain multiple progression files, which would mean updating the patches anytime I made an edit to the main file's progressions. These are only needed if you are not using the all classes versions of my No Spell Prep SE or Scroll Learning SE, which work for everything. Personally I just want to have Prestidigitation to clean up camp messes.

  • Issue with incorrect spellcasting modifier should be fixed now. I missed an entry in the class descriptions so while the main class modifier was set to Charisma, the subclass was set to Int.
  • Fixed spell slot cost on Shadow Resurrection. Shadow Resurrection now restores 50% instead of applying 25% temp HP as I felt this better justifies a level 5 spell slot cost.

  • Necrotizing Smite reworked into a container spell that allows you to inflict any one of the Contagion conditions for 1 turn. Probably fine to keep playing without respec since I didn't change the spell name internally, just the functionality.
  • Profane Smite interrupt issue fixed, it no longer procs off of itself. Hopefully this is the last time I have to fix Profane Smite.
  • Fixed wrong of Hellish Rebuke being in the spell list. I had Target_HellishRebuke instead of Shout_HellishRebuke.
  • Updated screenshots to reflect changes.
  • New of Spell Learning and No Spell Prep. Uses script extender instead of overwriting the ClassDescriptions.lsx file. Remove the old files. Both files are compatible with each other, mix and match as you please.

  • Added a new icon for the Venomous Smite condition.
  • Fixed ability defaults and skill selection on class selection.
