Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that to get the appropriate prompt, the dot must be over whatever the object is. I suppose without the dot, you just move around until the prompt comes up. That said, I have the opposite problem with the dot. I have trouble seeing it. How about an option to make it easier to see.
Out of curiosity I tested this mod out (even though I honestly thought I would end up removing it for the same reasons that @bobbd mentioned) and I was pleasantly surprised that I had zero issues without the dot and actually even enjoyed that little thing gone from my screen. I always felt like the dot activation zone was a little off of the visual whenever I would line it up on a interactable target anyways. Now, just eyeballing where the correct interact area should be (at the center of my screen) seems a lot more natural than WITH the dot as a guide.

Just tested this out and I'm with MsTHunter. Much less distracting with no dot and hovering over something so that the prompt comes up doesn't seem to be an issue. Thank you Dreams897.
I see, I personally have the HUD turned off along with incoming threat indicator (did you try that one?) so I wasn't seeing that. Yeah shouldn't be hard to do if those don't fix it, I'll look into it
I'm looking into that, but unfortunately there is some code that makes the crosshairs pull towards each other when you pull the string of the bow for example and I'm still trying to find the code and change it.
Update: I made a new mod that makes crosshairs smaller or can remove it completely. I tried to just use the reticle dot for aiming but unfortunately it works a little differently than that and there is some code involved so I just made the crosshair half the size of vanilla for now.

turning off incoming threat indicator dosnt turn this off.
Is it possible to remove the dot out of combat and use it in combat instead of the big crosshairs?
Nice mod, I would like to ask if opposite can be achieved - left just the dot and remove crosshair during combat.
Those crosshairs are too big for my taste.
Many thanks.
Great work.
