First thanks for this, it's cool and made playing this a tad more enjoyable.
Second, I see a lot of people saying they figured this out and not explaining how - so I also figured it out for all those confused on how to work this - You're editing the wrong game.ini.
It isn't the one in XboxGames Directory, as stated in the instructions it is the AppData one. Path should be:
does not seem to work on my gamepass version this is all that is in the game.ini: [/Script/EngineSettings.GeneralProjectSettings] Configuration=Dev [/Script/Alabama.MerchantComponent] PlayerSellValueMultiplier=1
I've tried changing it several time did the read only. I've put it greater than and less than the standard value. The prices for example remain at 36 for bows . [/Script/Alabama.MerchantComponent] PlayerSellValueMultiplier=3.0 is what i place into the game.ini . if I'm doing something wrong please tell me how to correct my ways lol.
I’ve copied and pasted it into game.ini and set permissions to read only but nothing is changing in game for selling prices. Did the update break this or anything?
My alabama.ini file is empty, is that normal? also on gamepass. Edit: My reading comprehension is clearly lacking, i needed game.ini. not alabama.ini sorry for the Idiocy.
* figured it out. i misunderstood where it said putting >1 would get you more than its value. i wanted to get even more so i could build up my gold reserves and when i changed it to =5 instead of >5 it worked.
I can't get this to work at all, can someone help? I've added the lines and edited them to be higher and lower but none of them change anything. Did read only in the properties. I'm in vanilla and have set the value to be both below and above 1 but no change to buying or selling price, it remains 20% of the merchant price to sell back. I'm using game pass and have been using the right path and editing the right file. Am I missing something about applying the change?
EDIT: man i figured it out but my head hurts haha.
Thanks for the mod. As a heads up, Merchants normal selling price is 1.15 in Hard, and 1.3 in POTD. It's 1 at all other difficulties. So if you're looking to edit your sell price to be equal with merchants at a higher difficulty, you will need to raise it above 1.
Always bothers me when games with a fixed amount of loot punish experimentation (through gear and respec). It means from the time you enter, your opportunities to try things are constantly decreasing with each spend of resources.
I was just reporting back on the same thing! Great minds. I am glad you thought to add the info to help match the vanilla purchase price changes for the higher difficulties!

C:\Users\[YOURUSER]\AppData\Local\Alabama\Saved\Config\WinGDK
Edit the Game.ini in that folder with the mentioned lines.
Enjoy.
