NOTES DON'T USE IF YOU'RE STARTING THE GAME FOR THE FIRST TIME, UPDATED GPU DRIVERS OR CHANGED GRAPHICS SETTINGS. LET THE GAME GENERATE SHADERS PROPERLY ONCE AFTER THE CHANGES OR THE FIRST GAME START.
Not that I don't love this for modding purposes cause it speeds things up but don't we need shaders to load in on the front end so they don't bog down the game on the back-end? I'm genuinely curious
The game does it each start, because it cannot know, if you changed something in your hard or software. If you did not change anything in your system/PC, the shaders will always be created identically.
That is why I posted below, you should disable this mod each time / once when you change something in your hard/software. Or when the game got updated (which just happened as we speak) ;-)
So you are saying the game already has the shaders downloaded somewhere and the only purpose of the shader warmup is to basically reload the shaders. So does that mean when the game starts the shaders are already loaded in?
It is compiling from scratch the shaders every time it boots the game. If you haven't updated your drivers, windows, or changed game settings, there is absolutely no reason for it to compile shaders after the initial time. Lazy devs didn't put a check in place to just use the already compiled/cached shaders.
There is a reason why the mod maker says to not use this if you've never booted the game up before. Because you won't have any shaders compiled yet.
Thank you, thank you for the new optional file. I actually had to disable the full version because it was causing some performance issues that were separate from the issue I mentioned in my other comment. This makes it so much better!
This would be nice. I just had my game crashing every time I used Caeroc's Pride because I forgot to disable the mod after the Nvidia GPU Driver update today. I like the fast start, but it seems a hassle to have to disable every time.
@Caites - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! It works like a charm, easy endorsement!!
While I too would likely prefer to use a version that keeps the Shader Generations I will happily run the current risks to have such a quick startup in the meantime!
I'm guessing the mod author doesn't know how to make a version that keeps shader warmup, but skips the warnings. Or they have looked into it and realised that it can't be done.
Note: I would also not recommend using it, after game update or even Windows or GPU driver Update. As the game checks for these things and builds best shader possible for that machine.
I keep getting shader warmup at the start, maybe because I have to turn off FSR every time before playing. Is it possible to make a version of this mod that just gets rid of the warnings?
Thanks again! I was wondering why this game does every time I wanna start to play... ^^ Now if someone could do a basic glowing item for night/dark dungeon explorations, a basic item like in any decent RPGs, e.g.: torch, lantern, or a magic glowing whatever... ^^

Best wishes.

PLENTY of other games only rebuild shaders when necessary and not every startup. cannot know my ass.
