NOTES There is minor side effect in the second, "jog faster", version - slightly faster jog is your default moving mode while you are encumbered, thus no way to move slower.
I have tested ALL versions from this mod page - 'Better Carry Weight' (x2 / x100) and 'Less Punishing Encumbrance' (Jog / Faster Jog) and they all work great! Thank you @Caites (yet again), ENDORSED!!
Just a little nod to the description page, DON'T SKIP THIS STEP!! When using either of the 'Better Carry Weight' mods with the 'Better Attributes' mod:
Rename EACH of the 3 files included in 'Better Attributes':
I have tried all combinations possible with all versions of these mods and THAT (points above) is the only part of the load order that matters between Less Punishing Encumbrance / Better Carry Weight / Better Attributes. The naming for 'Less Punishing Encumbrance' does not impact anything.
For the folks who may be confused with some parts of the description page, I am going to try an alternate (longer/detailed) approach to explain the differences/compatibility between the 'Better Carry Weight' and 'Better Attributes' mods in by breaking the numbers down a bit... (Possibly unnecessary / overkill but *shrug*)
Spoiler:
Show
Vanilla Might: Each level adds an additional 10% of the BASE weight (starting capacity of 120 = 12'lbs' added with each level)
0 POINTS = 120 Carry weight
1 POINTS = 132 Carry weight
2 POINTS = 144 Carry weight
3 POINTS = 156 Carry weight
Better Attributes Might: ADDS +60 to VANILLA base carry weight (120 -> 180) Each level adds an additional 10% of the BASE weight (starting capacity of 180 = 18'lbs' added with each level)
0 POINTS = 180 Carry weight
1 POINTS = 198 Carry weight
2 POINTS = 216 Carry weight
3 POINTS = 234 Carry weight
Better Carry Weight (x2): DOUBLES VANILLA base carry weight (120 -> 240) Each level adds an additional 10% of the BASE weight (starting capacity of 240= 24'lbs' added with each level)
0 POINTS = 240 Carry weight
1 POINTS = 264 Carry weight
2 POINTS = 288 Carry weight
3 POINTS = 312 Carry weight
Better Carry Weight (x100): Each level adds an additional 10% of the BASE weight (starting capacity of 12,000= 1,200'lbs' added with each level)
0 POINTS = 12,000 Carry weight
1 POINTS = 13,200 Carry weight
2 POINTS = 14,400 Carry weight
3 POINTS = 15,600 Carry weight
---------------------------
NOTES:
The files for both versions are named the same thing (000_MoreCarryWeight_P) so if your intent was to swap the x2 version for the x100, I'd recommend reinstalling/overwriting just in case!
When using BOTH 'Better Attributes' and 'Better Carry Weight', the numbers will not combine.
One mod will "win" (OVERIDE) the other. Meaning, you will not get 'Better Attributes' base of 180 x2 (from 'Better Carry Weight') which would equal starting off with a BASE capacity of 360.
@Caites, Quick Question: Does the change made to % increase of damage per level via 'Better Attributes' still apply with 'Better Carry Weight installed (when 'Better Attributes is properly renamed for compatibility)? Or does that change revert back to Vanilla (via Better Carry Weight coding)?
Spoiler:
Show
From 'Better Carry Weight' Description page: "... Better Attributes will win changes to Might (x2 carry weight, vanilla damage bonus vs. 1.5x carry weight, x1.2 damage growth)"
From 'Better Attributes' Description page: Might: x1.5 faster growth of damage bonus (3% -> 4.5%)
Also, is the stat change visibly shown on a page such as Primary Attributes section of the Character tab? For me, all of my primary stats seem to remain the same regardless of how many points I put into Might (even maxed of 15). No change between character level 1 vs 4 either. Vanilla vs mods installed also shows no changes to anything. Am I misunderstanding how something works?
all changes to the Might (damage and carry weight) will be won by one of the mods (up to their names).
descriptions under primary attributes (left part of the screen) will stay vanilla, derived attributes (HP, Stamina, base crit chance etc) to the right will be shown properly.
Another random question: Does 'Less Punishing Encumbrance (Faster Jog)' have a side effect of also increasing swim speed by a bit?? Maybe I have just spent way too much time testing out various mods lately that I have forgotten what vanilla feels like, but I could swear that swimming seems a bit less tedious with that mod installed. Placebo effect??
Understood, thanks! Even if it is just a placebo I will happily take it until a real boost is available. Exploration via swimming to hunt for treasure among the shipwrecks all along the coast is PAINFULLY SLOW. Your Easy Breathing mod makes it a bit less tedious though so thanks for that!

I hesitate to ask, especially since you've already done so much, but would it be possible to have a version of this that includes the perks of 'More Carry Weight' AND the changes to damage from 'Better Attributes' = x1.5 faster growth of damage bonus (3% -> 4.5%). [Better More Carry Weight] I guess essentially I am suggesting a compatibility patch for the only two of your all your impressive amount of mods that are not fully compatible by default. (as far as I can remember atm)
I was wondering about that but didn't know if the slow-down just meant a break or something more final. Totally understandable either way. I greatly appreciate all that you added to this game. I know that it greatly improved not just mine but SO many peoples experiences!! I think I have downloaded all but 2 of your mods and so far they have all stayed in my loadout. So thank you again for all of your time (and patience) spent on Avowed. Kudos to you!! I hope you got everything out of this game that you were wanting and I wish you the best! Hopefully I will have the pleasure of using your mods in a future game. Take care!!
thank you for your help in comments as well. I will update mods if one of game's update bork them and mb add some tweaks here in there in future, but that's it. there are enough modders familiar with UE modding the game rn, I've seen yakuzadeso, r457, I'm sure they will cover what's left.
Hey there, I just tested all of these out so here's what I found...
Less Punishing Encumbrance (Jog) - "Removes walking/jogging penalty."
As it says, this removes the penalty when you become over-encumbered, so your normal movements will be at a regular speed vs snail pace (vanilla penalty)
You will be unable to use Sprint while over-encumbered (even with this mod)
Less Punishing Encumbrance (Faster Jog) - "Makes walking/jogging ~20% faster when encumbered."
This is the faster version, not only does this remove the penalty when you become over-encumbered, it also boosts your new speed so your normal movements will be 20% faster than the 'Jog' option, making it now essentially closer to a sprint than a jog
You will be unable to use Sprint while over-encumbered (even with this mod)
The 100x weight currently doesn't work for me either, I uninstalled it then reinstalled it and it still didn't work, then I tried an older save (when it worked) but it didn't when I went back to it.
@Bread1832 Are you also using the 'Better Attributes' mod? If so, is it possible that you may have originally only had 'Better Carry Weight (x100)' installed and then added 'Better Attributes' (without renaming it) into your mods at a later date? That could possibly explain why it was working and then stopped (even when loading a previously working save).
I'm not sure, but you can rename not the mod files by weight x100, but the better attributes mod files to ZZZ_BetterAttributes_P. At least it worked for me. Apparently the order in which mods are loaded starts with the latest files.
Thank you for the Mods I appreciate everything you do, but unfortunately, these don't work for me, I'm starting to think these might not work on Xbox GamePass? can try it on Steam later. Done everything in the desc compatibility and tried the mods one by one, unless you need to start a new game for them. not tried that. tried the 100 and 2 x carry weight and the encumbered penality remover together with the suggestions and alone and none worked.

I am slightly confused by the wording in the "less punishing" version. It reads:
"Makes walking/jogging ~20% faster when encumbered."
Does that mean the encumbrance penalty is now 80% of what it would be?
Less Punishing Encumbrance (Jog) - "Removes walking/jogging penalty."
- As it says, this removes the penalty when you become over-encumbered, so your normal movements will be at a regular speed vs snail pace (vanilla penalty)

I have changed all 3 files to read ZZZ_etc etc
I am using Vortex is this a potential issue in the way it works with files?
Regards
To get clarity on this...
"I have changed all 3 files to read ZZZ_etc etc"
Did you change the files from 'Better Carry Weight'?
Or the ones from 'Better Attributes'?
Are you also using the 'Better Attributes' mod?
If so, is it possible that you may have originally only had 'Better Carry Weight (x100)' installed and then added 'Better Attributes' (without renaming it) into your mods at a later date?
That could possibly explain why it was working and then stopped (even when loading a previously working save).
There should be no compatibility issues since my mod doesn't change anything related to gameplay.
EDIT: I just checked x2 and x100 weight. And they both work with my Optimized Tweaks mod, of course:
