Oh hell yes! Godsend for OLED users like me, the HUD is too damn useful sometimes in combat, but otherwise just gets in the way and risks burn-in. Awesome work bro.. just one question.. ToggleKey=335544320 tells it to use CapsLock, but how would I find the appropriate number for another key? Say I wanted to use Z? I already use caps for another function on my keyboard, that's why :)
Don't know if this has been asked. After installing, I changed the key to H because I turn Caps Lock off globally. When I press H, the compass and location/quest turn off or on. However, it does not affect the rest of the HUD, the health and essence bars etc. I got the impression from the images that this should either show or hide the entire HUD unless you're in combat. What I want is to have the entire HUD display even if I'm out of combat. What have I missed? Thanks.
I feel like I've tried everything to get this working, and I've used Reshade with many other games.
After selecting Avowed.exe when setting up Reshade, and launchig the game the game was showing Fatal Error. I read that changing dxgi.dll to d3d11.dll would fix that, and it did, and the game loaded. However, no Reshade overlay or tutorial was popping up like in other games I've used it with. Pressing HOME does nothing, but I didn't expect it to when I never saw Reshade text showing in the corner of the screen when launching.
I tried setting up Reshade again but this time selecting 'Avowed-WinGDK-Shipping.exe' instead of Avowed.exe, but still no reshade loaded.
Pretty sure I've put the files in the correct folders.
ShaderToggler.addon64 where Avowed-WinGDK-Shipping.exe is
and
ShaderToggler.ini in Content\Alabama\Binaries\WinGDK
Feel like I've done something dumb, but usually I don't play Game Pass PC games, so maybe I've messed up somewhere...
Not at the moment. This mod disables a shader related to the 3D view, and many interface elements are grouped within this shader. Right now, they cannot be separated individually.
Hey. I'm experiencing the same issue. When I encountered the fatal error, the game launched after changing to d3d11.dll file, but there is no ReShade interface. Pressing the Home or Caps Lock keys in-game doesn't do anything either. I've also placed the ShaderToggler.addon64 and ShaderToggler.ini files in the WinGDK folder (cuz Avowed-WinGDK-Shipping.exe is located there). So everything seems correct, but neither the ReShade interface appears nor does the HUD disappear.
Do you have any ideas? I don't want to start the game with my arms and HUD visible because I can't take photos that way.
trobliviontr I was having the same problem, couldn't get it to work after trying many times/things. I uninstalled the game, deleted the Avowed folder in Steamapps (since I'm on Steam) and reinstalled. Before activating any other mods I followed MsTHunter's install guide in another comment below. Did NOT select all the shaders/addons, just the ones suggested by them.
Works fine now. Installed all the same other mods I already had installed the first time and no problems. So, maybe a fresh reinstall after uninstalling/deleting the folder and do this mod first before any others.
Hi thank you for the mod! I managed to install it with a few hiccups here and there. But I was wondering how do you get the no hands/no weapons effect? Is it an addition mod?
Is it possible to manipulate the HUD without using ReShade? Obviously, not in this version but in a future version? I only ask because I would like to use another ReShade and this mod seems more like it would be modifying something in a configuration file.
At the moment, it's not possible, but I hope this feature will be integrated into future updates. There are already in-game options to disable certain parts of the HUD, but nothing that completely removes it. As for using other ReShade features, it should be totally possible even with this mod. This mod only disables certain pixel shaders related to the player's 3D view and does not interfere with ReShade effects.
@Wulcy This mod should in no way interfere with any Reshade preset that you chose from or fx settings you use. It is 'simply' an Add-On to the Reshade program that has it's own separate .ini file (included in this mods download). Install is SUPER easy but I will use the authors instructions as a template... (I play via Steam so some of what I say will be specifically geared towards that game folder location vs the author who possibly plays through a different launcher)
The full-addon support version is KEY!! Without it, add-ons (like this mod) will not work.
Install ReShade by selecting Avowed.exe
Avowed-Win64-Shipping.exe
Choose the DirectX 10/11/12 API during the installation.
Check all effects and add-ons.
-IMO, this part isn't entirely necessary as it is highly unlikely that you will ever use ALL effects and add-ons. -I recommend just selecting 'SweetFX by CeeJayDK' and 'Legacy Effects' as a base since most of the included fx's are commonly used by authors and user friendly to tweak yourself -Alternatively, if you have picked a reshade preset that you would like to use, place that presets .ini file in the game folder (where everything else will be installed) and select it via the 'BROWSE' button at the bottom of the page. (Doing so will automatically select all/only the effects needed by that preset, therefore removing any bloat from having extra/unused effects downloaded)
Extract this mod to a place of your choosing
Place the ShaderToggler.addon64 from this mod to where ReShade is installed
Launch the game and toggle the HUD with Caps Lock.
While this is the hotkey set for HUD Toggle within this mods included ShaderToggler.ini, you can very easily customize that while in game via the Add-ons tab within the Reshade overlay (as shown in the sticky comment) The Reshade overlay should open/toggle via the HOME key (by default)
I hope that helps!! HUD toggle is SUPER useful, especially when taking screenshots. Thank you @NotVooDoo for sharing!
Anyone know if there Is a way to just hide the HUD for companions/their HP bar (left middle side of the screen) with a command in a *.ini file like game.ini

- Open ReShade in-game (Home key).
- Go to the "Add-ons" tab.
- Navigate to "Shader Toggler" and then "List of Toggle Groups."
- Click "Edit" on the group you want to modify.
- Change the "Key Shortcut" to your desired key.
- Click "OK" when done, then "Save All Toggle Groups."
If you can't find, the key "Z" without Alt, Ctrl, or Shift corresponds to 1509949440.Let me know if you need more help! 😊

Got Reshade to load by instead using the Gamelaunchhelper.exe in xboxgames\Avowed\content
Now just trying to get Reshade to load your mod's settings for hiding UI elements...
THANK YOU

It makes the install / game load so much slower.
