Consider supporting Cyberpunk 2077 and CD Projekt Red if you haven't already. Perhaps its success will show Ubisoft the value of full character customization that doesn't nickel and dime players for each option.
Any chance we can increase the distance were lower LODs appear? The hairstyles are very nice, but the problem is that they look good only on close distance, during the gameplay some lowpoly LODs are loaded which are half bald, and during the horse riding even the physics stop working and hairstyle changes it's shape dramatically. It is actually a problem of every LOD in game, vanilla hair and face look just slightly better. I hoped that 1.04 patch will fix it, but apparently it had not...
Hoped the same thing here. One thing I've noticed is there isn't even an option for this ingame like there was in odyssey and origins. And browsing the ini file it's set at a 2. Origins max was 5 and Odyssey 4. I tired just modifying the number to match either of those but didn't notice any change
In "Documents\Assassin's Creed Valhalla" and then in the ACValhalla.ini file there is a setting "Character=2" changing 2 to 4 fixed hair lod for me. But I haven't tried it with this mod so don't blame me if it doesn't work.
*Edit. I might be blind or can't read but I noticed the guy over me saying the same, oh well.
Changing "Character=2" to 4 actually helps! No more dead hair physics and also a face of the character looks good now (when it set to 2, there are no eyelashes, brows, shadows etc. on character's face, and the face itself is badly lowpoly) now it is much more detailed on the standard distance of the camera.
But, not every hairstyle were fixed. I am not sure how it works, seems like it is not only LOD of the mesh involved, since physics and such fixed for every hairstyle (as far as I can see), but there are also some kind of hair density. Some hairstyles become very transparent due to the lack of there hair. But some are not. This option definitely fixed some of them, which is not bad to start with)
I wonder if doing that would help the entire game in general on PC .... I think they nerfed the LOD for the consoles so they can do 60 FPS and forgot to set it correctly for the PC ...... I know a lot of people with high end graphics cards are complaining about mountains and other terrain in the distance looking like a downgrade from Odyssey ......
In my opinion the entire game feels like a downgrade from Odyssey but it's hard to judge with soi much of it being broken including the bows not locking on targets the way they did on Odyssey and Origins ..... I haven't tried this out because I haven't even touched the game in 2 weeks and after finding out that the bows are still broken after the update I'm not even going to waste my time until they actually fix it ....
This is the worst release from me since RDR2 PC which I couldn't even get to run without crash for the first 6 weeks and then another month before they got the hourly crashes fixed .....
I think people are having different experiences. To me, the graphics look way better, including the textures, and even in the distance. It really baffles me when people say that Odyssey looked better because I just can't see it - Valhalla's incredibly beautiful to me and a clear evolution from the previous one. I can't run it at 60 fps (more like 30-40 fps) but I don't mind. I'll agree the character LOD could be improved though, and it seems like it could be an easy fix for the devs to make on pc. I only see a very slight difference changing "character" to 4 but maybe it's cause of the hair in question, like Fuse mentioned. Others might look even better.
I haven't even played it in two weeks mainly because the bows are complete and utter garbage compared to Odyssey and Origins mainly because the lock mechanism is broken and no one at Ubisoft seems to care or even acknowledge it's broken ..... But the final straw was when 2 of the first 3 monasteries raids I did were buggy as hell and so many people getting stuck in quests (At least 15 quests that Ubisoft acknowledged and I'm sure even more) I decided a second run through HZD was in order ..... 44 1/2 hours, 77 FPS average @ 1440p and never seen it dip below 70 and not a single crash or bug other than some hair clipping with every setting maxed out
Interesting that it seems to have helped a few people now. I wonder if todays patch allowed it to change, I tried it previously before the patch and didn't notice anything
Eivor head has some kind of "stubble" drawn on his head, that is not a hairstyle, that is the texture of his head. I don't think that "bald" hairstyle will change that, unless it uses some kind of mask map, applying above the default texture (which I doubt)
I would like to merge Havi arm normal map with Eivor, but I cant find male arm normal map anywhere :( I searched all mods on Nexus and tried to extract textures from the game via Blacksmith tool, but it didn't work. Can anyone help me?
Я сделал все как описано. Но при изменении значения любого из параметров таблицы игра просто не запускается. Появляется логотип игры, затем загружается и сразу же вылетает :/
So I’m having a little problem with the character model I want the bulkiness and muscle definition for eivor but doesn’t seem to be working when I click body type athletic I do have other mobs on like braless, ropesfree and enhance player muscles I did try disabling those mods and just having a customization did not work this is the local. I’m trying to go for in this video when it comes to definition and bulkiness.https://youtu.be/9Q7LO_B4R_w?si=Kg_TveaDrzU59mgzAny help I would love and very much appreciate thank you
