    Please help!!!
I do as the instructions say but when I load the game nothing has changed. I had the Patch_01 file deleted before because there was a mission that would crash the game. The game worked fine without that file and the weapon models were all there.

Is there a different folder that holds the weapon models?

    Thank you.

How can you even open the modded file in the first place to extract its mesh? Modded files are locked/encrypted to prevent others from using the original author’s asset for their own mods.

yeah this issues always iratating cuz its hard to use multiple mods at once i get that its an anti piracy measure  but it makes further modding of weapons beyond this one  impossible

I have also done some outfit model swap. This explains why I cannot decrypt some of the outfit mods with Anviltoolkit. I am not a modder, just a user with a bit IT knowledge who wants to enjoy the mods with better flexibility. Hope Halzoid98 can include this and there is no need for this page.

Well, I hope you have gained his permission, because he can report this mod as stolen. There’s another reason why AnvilToolKit encrypted mod author’s modded file, it’s because they contributed some finance into the software, so they get that special feature. Imagine you paid for an additional feature on a tool that allows you to protect your asset that you worked so hard to build, only to then find another modder that uses your asset and released it to the public, robbing you of downloaders and potentially commissioners.

And yes, commissioning is a big thing in AC modding community. There’s a reason why most modders use Ezio outfit as the foundation for model swap. They either don’t know how to switch with other outfits, or they’re hoping someone can commission them so they can earn some money for their hard work.

So again, talk to the mod author of Altair sword and see if he’s okay with you releasing this mod using his asset.

EDIT: BTW, what modded outfit were you able to edit to replace different vanilla outfit?

dont answer his question he just wants ot limit the modding comunity to placate egos  im a modder also and i believe all these tools should be open source we borrow these assets from different parts of the internet so  with that being said everything made is derivative to some degree gatekeeping tools is counterintuitive to provide and create a more imersive and inclusive modding ecosystem that  broadens the comunity rather than  hinders its progress

just because ocmissions  are a big thing doesnt mean that the modding  tutorials and assets shouldnt be open source unless they were designed  by the modder themselves they hold no legal ip ownership over said asset . gatekeeping is such a useless endeavor

@voodoochildv But...I'm not defending the community, I'm just stating what I had analyzed from my time knowing them. There's nothing in what I've been saying that wants to limit the modding. In fact, I'm defending SimonSaid13 and trying to make sure doesn't get in trouble, like having his account ban or something.

Glad I can help. I also find the way to model swap outfits. Find the first .entitybuilder in the .data of the original outfit. Replace all digit after the 6th Byte from the mod. Replace all files in the .data from the mod. I may record the steps. Replace after 6th byte seems to be a universal method for older ac games.
