I always hated how comically conspicuous the templar extremists where in this game, so this retexture is basically meant to tone down and/or remove some of the red elements in order to make the extremists harder to pick out of a crowd.
Another thing that always annoyed me about this game was the weird glow on enemy NPCs when you're a certain distance away from them (as shown in the GIFs below), thankfully this was simply a matter of deleting the relevant files.

Unfortunately this mod won't work in the Dead Kings DLC.

This is only a retexture of the extremists, the French guards are left untouched, although the the distance glow is removed from all enemy NPCs.

Installation

.In AnvilToolkit unpack DataPC_ACU_Paris.forge, DataPC_ACU_Versailles.forge and DataPC_SharedGroup_01.forge (this automatically creates backups if you ever want to revert back)

.Then place the .data files from "Templar Extremist Retexture + Remove Distance Glow.7z" in the corresponding extracted .forge folders.

.Next, repack the .forge folders in AnvilToolkit and you're done.
