The game got updated to version 1.62 to address the issues on Windows 24H2. My mod still works on the new game version, you just have to do the patching procedure again after your game has been updated to the new version.
Could you please tell me how to get this working with the 'toggle hud' mod? If it's DXVK that is the problem could you tell me how to uninstall that because when I replace the d3d11 and dxgi files that come with th DXVK download with the originals to try to get the toggle hud to work, the game won't launch anymore.
The offset/address for the cheat engine table on Steam version 1.5.6 is:ACOdyssey.exe+0xb376924
The signature/pattern for the patcher script is: set "origHex=C783105200000000803F" set "replHex=C7831052000000000000"
I don't have the uplay versions, sorry.
As to how I found it, I looked for how Origins uses the value provided by the patch script/table and cross referenced that with Odyssey through a disassembler.
That is great, I was just checking this for Odyssey past weekend, but was not able to find the value. With the Steam version found, finding the value for uplay version should be trivial for me now.
Hmm, gave this a shot with my Ryzen 5800X3D and Geforce 1070Ti and found the performance to be dropping below 60 at 1080p so I'm not gonna use this with my current graphics card.
Also in my quick analysis the things that would've made a big impact on the look of the game seemed to be unaffected, like texture quality and terrain objects (like crop fields) turning completely flat and losing all details still happen at pretty close distances and shadow pop-in while turning the camera is just as nasty as always. (These shortcomings are vastly less noticeable in Odyssey)
It seems this mod is just targeting fairly minor environmental details and that's perfectly fine, I don't think you advertised it as doing anything else but it's kinda disappointing.
Are you running the Steam or Ubisoft Store version? If installed correctly, the difference is pretty clear when doing the in-game benchmark as you will lose some frames when the mod is working.
I am running it on the steam version and chose the right version. For some reason it is working now, I know it is working because of the fps drop you mentioned. I do not see much of a difference at all but based on these positive posts, I am sure I will start to see a difference. Thank you for this awesome mod.
I will say it is annoying that if I ever want to vertify the integrity of the files it replaces the patched exe file. But it is simple to just create the patch file through the bat again.
You can just copy the already patched .exe file to some backup folder before verifying files, and then just paste it back after the verification is complete.
Thank you. Right now I am busy with other things, but I may revisit Odyssey and Valhalla in the future and see if something similar can be done to them.
Hi, thanks but I tried both patch and CT methods and neither work for me... Still texture pop-in. I have the latest Ubisoft version of the game. I have stable 95 FPS in ULTRA 4K HDR with RTX 4070Ti SUPER, but nothing seems to fix this pop-in problem...
The mod does not completely eliminate all the pop-in, it just reduces it close to zero in the low / medium draw distance range. You might still experience some pop-in in the far distance, but nothing can be done about that. The clear indicator of the mod working is lower fps compared to vanilla LOD. You can use the CT method to easily disable / enable the LOD fix while the game is running to see the difference. Or you can run the in-game benchmark to see the difference in performance between vanilla and the LOD fix enabled. And just to confirm, you have the Ubisoft version, not the Ubisoft+ version ? And you are running version 1.60?
EDIT: I just tested myself, and got just a blackscreen after starting the game and pressing a key in the opening screen. The issue was the NVIDIA Overlay in the new NVIDIA App that is included in the new drivers. I disabled the overlay from the NVIDIA App settings and the game started fine, and the LOD fix was working when I ran the benchmark.
Thanks for your answer. I actually have no "_Patched" file appearing when executing sfk.exe... I didn't notice that, I renamed the mod's file to ACOrigins.exe that's why it didn't work... Any idea? I tried to press 2 in sfk.exe since my game is in D:/ but it also doesn't work...
EDIT : Look, maybe I should just relearn how to read english, I executed the wrong file... I still have pop-ins at middle-long range, and shadows pop-in at close-range, but your mod works very good for close-range textures, thank you! And sorry for making you loose your time...
Please check my previous comment to killhuah as that might prove helpful. Could you also list your game version and store version ( Steam, Ubisoft+ .etc ) if the content of my previous comment does not help with your issue.
Yes you can, by setting the value higher than the default 1.0. But some graphical glitches might appear. If you only increase the value a little, like to 1.10 or 1.25, that might still be OK. You can experiment with different values and see how it goes. I recommend you use the Cheat Table rather than the patch version, as this allows you to change the value while the game is running and the change is not persistent. Makes finding a suitable LOD level a lot nicer.
On my version it doesn't work, I have crack version without Denuvo of Assassin's Creed origins and the values in cheat engine are incorrect can you do a tutorial how to find this values manually?

EDIT: Found the address, tested to be working. Mod created, has patches for all versions: Odyssey Longer Draw Distance and LOD Fix

So this mod has been very usefull thank you.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey's LOD is nearly as bad as Origin's...
Are you planning to do a remake of this mod for Odyssey?
It would be a most needed mod for this game too!
Still texture pop-in.

There is serious issues with AC Origins on the newest Windows 11 version, 24H2, information from Microsoft: Select games might stop responding on Windows 11, version 24H2 devices
"game might become unresponsive while starting, loading or during active gameplay. In some cases, users might receive a black screen."
Rolling back to version 23H2 solves the issues.
EDIT: As of 16/01/2025 the issues should be fixed on version 24H2 according to Microsoft

Is it possible for these be reproduced for Odyssey, Valhalla and Fenyx Rising? Since those games have bad LOD even on max settings
