Jeez my pc was sweating buckets trying to run this at 4k. I don't think I will have a pc strong enough till the 4080 or 4090 releases. It did look better than RDR maxed out
I had been playing with a beta version of a pseudo-ray tracing preset for a while, and though it was obviously nice I wanted to switch it out. I switched to this one. As I wandered around after using it I kept being distracted to objects to the right and left, and after only a bit I realized what I kept being distracted by was . . . distance. Just plain old distance between me looking at the screen and how far away an object seemed now. Distance. That pottery over to the side of the road near that house? It seemed like there was real distance between me and it. That tree canopy over the cliff? A tree top rather than just colorful graphics.
THAT's the beauty of this preset imo.
This preset worked to bring an element to the game that I hadn't seen before. Sure, the ray-trace preset seemed to do its thing, but something about this particular preset just works. You get a feeling like you are literally walking in a 3D set and things are either close or not, much like the new NVE does to GTA5. Good old distance. Perspective!
Doesn't seem to work for me either. I downloaded the normal uplay version and extracted to the game directory all the files. I get the reshade option screen when pressing 'home' but no change. Pressing 'end' doesn't turn on/off anything either.
I've downloaded the new version and there is no difference. I have normal Uplay and i'm downloading the version for normal Uplay. I'm still getting the reshade menu but none of the effects.
When you say your preset, is that selected under the home tab? I see what could be a drop down list on the home tab which says 'realistic reshade' but clicking it takes me to the game files directory but nothing can be selected.
if it says realistic reshade than my preset is selected. I don't know what is the problem it should be working. Reshade is working because the menu wouldnt appear if it wasnt and my preset is selected because it wouldn't write my preset's name if it wasn't.
I've tried your preset only file and still can't get it to work. I also tested 5 other reshade presets and they all work. There just seems to be a problem getting your preset and it's effects to load properly.
I don't know what to suggest but if there's any info about my set up, system etc that might help just let me know.
I have no idea :( and im not sure if its just you or everyone or some people only. I just wanted to share this and i think it is not working for anyone
I replaced the files, I think i may have found the problem. Can you download again any of the downloads (v3.0) and tell me if it works now? If it doesn't work now i have no idea what's wrong.

Great job, mate.
