Alright, I did exactly as the instructions dictated and I am never gonna try this mod again.
I was forced to reinstall AC3 Remastered because trying the damn Resorep BS did something (idfk what) akin to what the last random windows update did to my AC3, i.e. error 0x0000142 or something like that.
So yeah, not risking wasting more time reinstalling AC3 for the nth time for what is essentially malware to my AC3. Whether this has to do with me being on a Windows 11 os; idk. But not trying it again.
Hi, thanks again for this great work! I successfully converted it to forger files(since resorep doesn't work with reshade) and had it work on all the outfits and it look fabulous! Would you mind if I share it with other people?
get anvil tool kit, unpack datapc_dx11.forge, in it unpack 142_-_CHR_P_Connor_PC_DefaultMainCharacter.data, find 829_-_CHR_P_Connor_Head_DiffuseMap.TextureMap, click on it and in the popped up window there will be an option to replace the texture. This will apply the texture on Connor's default robe and all its variations. For other outfits simply search for them it Datapc_dx11.forge and you can find the corresponding file( for example, the one for Achilles's robe is 163_-_CHR_P_Connor's_Achilles_Assassin's_Outfit_OverRideBuilder.data), and once you find them just do the same thing and it's done. For the texture to show up in cutscenes as well, you'll then need to go to 258_-_CHR_P_Connor_Default_Head_HR_DiffuseMapDesc and replace 1_-_CHR_P_Connor_Default_Head_HR_DiffuseMap.TextureMap.
Thanks for replying & two more qs :- 1.How to remove the quiver from certain outfits? Just give one example! 2.Do i repack the main forge file and copy & paste it as a backup somewhere else so in future i wont have to do these again & can simply drag and drop modded forge file to game directory?
1.take Connor's Default robe as an example, in 142_-_CHR_P_Connor_PC_DefaultMainCharacter.data find 189_-_CHR_P_Quiver, export it as xml with anvil tool kit, go to the exported xml and find this,
originally there will be numbers following the four Filereference paths, change them to 0 as is show in the image above. Save the xml, compile it with anvil tool kit, repack 142_-_CHR_P_Connor_PC_DefaultMainCharacter.data, repack datapc_dx11.forge and you're done.
sure, user name mugi121 you should also join anvil tool kit discord, lots of tutorials and resources you can find there, and all the real master of AC modding are there too, I am but a beginner like you, there's only so much I can teach you, but with them you will have all your questions answered Discord
Hey! Just wanted to say thank you for this mod! I LOVE the Animal Spirit outfit, but was disappointed when I saw the markings were gone. Yes, I know they're suppose to represent going to war and stuff, but to be fair Connor is at war with the Templars. Plus the outfit feels incomplete without them! Anyway, thank you so much for adding them back! Sadly I'm not currently playing AC3. Just browsing the Nexus, but I will download and endorse right away! :D
