The work done by the author is honorable and the game is beautiful but let's be honest 2 minutes, it's unplayable.
The vision of the eagle is completely buggy and despite everything the author says nothing fixes it (I remind you that it is still a main mechanic of the game eh). The minimap is not in the right place, buggy and is surrounded by a light square filter that ruins all the graphic immersion (same nothing from the author to fix that). The options that we choose are reset each time we load/return to the desktop screen/restart the game. (Once again nothing from the author)
In short it's a crazy job but completely botched at the end which absolutely ruins everything and pushes a lot of players to abandon the mod. It's sad. The only times the author has come to help is systematically either to not answer, or to give advice that doesn't work for anyone, or to give advice that can't be done because I don't know what mod he uses but it doesn't seem to be ours given that a lot of his advice talks about non-existent checkboxes, invisible options, etc.
Can't speak to the eagle vision, but as far as the options being reset - I found a solution. You need to go the the ReShade.ini file and edit. Under the [GENERAL] header look at the CurrentPresetPath line. Mine defaulted to a folder and drive that didn't exist. Copy the file path from AC2 2019 RESHADEs folder and save. Now you will be able to properly select the presets and make your own (I did have to go into the folder, copy a preset, and edit it to get it to properly create an actual custom .ini). For the other glitches, best I can offer you is to set your presets to disable when you initiate eagle vision. Just make it the same key. Although, you will have to then enable it yourself with another key.
reshade crashes the game. changing directory in the ini doesnt fix it. installing newest reshade and using THIS reshade files allows to use some of the effects, the rest is bugged.
Could just be anecdotal, but I was having the exact same issue for a few hours until I found the fix. Next time you launch the game, hit the reshade button (Home) and go over to addons and turn off "Generic Depth" then restart the game. This fixed the game crashing at the main menu for me. I think this games old engine is not compatible with the depth calculations offered by reshade.
How to tune down the strenght of the sunlight? In day scenes, the sun is so intense that I can see certain objectives. Also, in the cutscenes the characters have like oversaturated colors and high contrasted shadows on his faces, how can I tune that down?
