For everyone that would like to get this to work on Steam Deck. If you have a windows dual boot,
● Install game again in steam windows os ● Download the transfer tool on windows os, ● Download the save file. ● Replace old AC6 save file from file location ● Add the Transfer tool in that save file location as well ● Double click transfer tool and run it ● Turn off steam cload save and turn off wifi/internet connection ● Run Game, and make a change somewhere to promp auto save (like edit an emblem) ● then turn steam cloud save on and wifi. ● Close game ● switch to steam game mode and run game. You should get a promt that steam incountered a cload save issue. Gives you the option to choose between local and cloud save. ● choose cloud save
This worked for me and i hope it works for whoever wants the save file on steam deck.
For Anyone Struggling 1. Backup the Save you want to transfer 2. Copy the new Saves into your %appdata&/AC6/SteamID folder 3. Drag the main .sl2 File ONTO THE EXE FILE you downloaded 4. Wait for Patching to end. 5. Enjoy
For those who cant use this save, just DRAG and DROP it exactly at the transfer tool. No need to open the tool's exe or whatever. Just DRAG it to the exe.
I'm facing similar issues as to what other people are reporting here. Trying to transfer from pirated to a bought version. I intend to keep replying to you though to see how to fix this lol
The save transfer I assume worked correctly, but it won't read the save once I launch the game. It'll say "failed to read save data" and that's it. I've done the transfer as you instructed in the readme. I don't believe your program is the issue. But there is some incompatibility here somewhere.
Care to help figure this out?
EDIT: I think I know what can be the cause for this. Since pirated versions often include DLC, it also includes the Melander C3 set which likely has all sorts of trouble. Let me know what you think
I would be more inclined to think that it could be due to an update to the save file or something that the pirated version scuffed.
Otherwise, make sure that your steam ID got transferred into the save. You dragged the old save into the new steam folder for saves with your steam id number on it, right? And then you dragged the save onto the exe?
I think (90% sure) that what people are missing is that the .exe must be *in the save folder* when doing the transfer. To me, this wasn't very clear. I figured it out when downloading a different save to make sure it wasn't my own save that was bad/corrupted/scuffed.
It worked in the end. I think I'd add that the exe must be in the save folder you are transferring to to the readme in more explicit terms.
Hi Nordgaren, big idiot here. So I was trying to download a save and use your editor, but in the process I deleted my old save, and when I try to boot the game I can't get past the "can't find data return to title" screen. does your program automatically interact with the game? I put the save editor on my desktop and placed the SL2 files I wanted in there, but even before I made the dumb decision of deleting my old data, the imported save didn't apply to my game.
You can also open the exe directly iirc, and it should either tell you how to specify stuff via the command line, or ask you for the path and steam id number.
The best way is to have the save file in the folder where the saves go, with your steam id, and then drag the save onto the exe to transfer saves. The exe can be anywhere.
This should change the steam id for the save file.
The tool doesn't do anything automatically, other than get your steam id from the folder the save is in, if it's in the save folder where your saves go with the steam id.
I've been wanting to convert my save from a cracked copy of the game to run on my legit one, but I cannot make it work properly. I followed the steps for it to do the conversion, and the prompt says it does so, sucessfully. Thing is, once in game, it verifies the save and then it tries to update it, but says the save data is corrupted and won't load. Weirdly enough, if I let the game load the STEAM save and then replace with the old save and convert it to the new steam id, it does load the save. I play a little bit fro the game to overwrite the save with new data, but when I return to the main menu, the game says the save is corrupt. Any known solution to this?
Hello I'm having an issue where I cant find my %appdata%/ArmoredCore6/YourSteamId/ in the first place.. I have a saveon aromred core ive run it and played it so that data has to exist somewhere but I'm not sure how to find it, Tried searching through file browser but couldnt seem to get it. Help is so appreciated and sorry if this is dumb I have pratically zero experince with modding.
Did you try going to %appdata%/ArmoredCore6/? Obviously the folder "YourSteamId" is not going to exist. It's going to be named whatever your steam ID number is.
Hello, I have a situation that hopefully this will help with? I have been playing a pirated Fitgirl version of the game (which is as far as I know fully updated to the current version number?), but seeing the Steam Winter Sale, I went and bought a legitimate Steam copy. Will this tool be what I need to transfer from my pirated copy to the official one? I'd like to keep playing, but hope I don't have to redo my whole save thus far! Please, I'm trying to go legit! haha
I do believe people have said it's safe to update the save file with this tool, yes.
Just put the save file into the new folder created at `%appdata%/ArmoredCore6/` that has your steam ID. Then drag the save onto the exe provided in the files section, and it should get your steam ID from the folder the file is in, and replace it, so you can use it with your Steam copy.
Alright, it did work! I deactivated some DLC parts that I had, so I had to delete a couple models that were using those parts, but the game was pretty chill about it. It just said "AC built with parts you do not own", instead of, like, flagging me for it. What was throwing me off is that I had to overwrite the Steam save file with the new one, then drag and drop it. I thought the tool would do the "save over Steam file" part with me. Once I delete the Steam version and replaced it, I was good to go!

Drag and drop the saves on the closed .exe , and not the window itself.
You're welcome

I fixed it. It was entirely my fault.
