This app will install SteamCMD and Arma 3 Dedicated Server into the main folder this app came in. Place it where you want it before running the app.
If anything goes wrong, restart this entire process.

- Leave all files in the folder they came in.
- If you wish to store Arma 3 Dedicated Server and SteamCMD in a different location from where the setup executable is in now, move the extracted Arma3ServerSetup folder with all of it's contents to a directory you want to store the server in. If you move the folder, restart the executable in it's new location in case you already ran it.
- (OPTIONAL BUT GOOD) Forward ports 2303-2306 UDP/TCP and 2344-2345 UDP/TCP. Process depends on router model.
- Run Arma3ServerSetup.exe
- This file will open up
- Enter your Steam login username
- Select which system type you are using.
+ Settings < System < About: System type
+ Control Panel < System and Security < System: System type
- Access your Steam authenticator or your email for upcoming questions
- Input password
+ When typing in your Steam Account password for logging into SteamCMD, you will not be able to see what you have typed. Backspace does work, but you cannot see what has been typed or removed. If you mistype, SteamCMD will skip all steps and you will have to restart this process.
- SteamCMD will install or validate itself
- SteamCMD asks for authentication
+ Steam Mobile App < Approve < Shield Icon < Show Steam Guard code < Show Steam Guard Code: Input code into the CMD app window. Remember to capitalize letters. If you mistype, SteamCMD will skip all steps and you will have to restart this process.
- Arma 3 Dedicated Server will install or validate itself
+ This process should take some time. If it skips through it immediately, something has probably gone wrong and you will have to restart.
- Shortcuts folder opens up
+ Copy the line given to you in the CMD window
+ Right click the Arma3Server shortcut and go into it's properties.
+ Go into the Target field in the Shortcut tab
+ Overwrite anything in the field with the line copied from the CMD window
- serverConfig.txt opens itself
+ Change the name of the server to your liking
+ Change or note the randomly generated passwords for admin and server access
- Run the server using the Arma3Server shortcut
- Allow the Arma 3 Dedicated Server access through your firewall
- (OPTIONAL BUT GOOD) Make sure that your Windows protection allows the downloaded Arma 3 Dedicated Server executable through for both public and private networks. This process depends on Anti Virus software and Firewall software. The process is named Arma 3. You can distinguish between the game and the server by looking at the location of the executable for that permission.
- (IF SERVER NOT VISIBLE IN ARMA 3 SERVER LIST OR FOR EASE OF ACCESS) Get your public IP address and use Direct Connect in the Arma 3 Server Browser
+ Go to this website https://whatismyipaddress.com/
+ Copy the IPV4 address (line of four 1-3 digit numbers separated by a period)
+ Paste this address into the IP address slot
+ The port for connection is 2303 by default
+ For people you feel you trust, share the public IP for ease of connection
- Enter the server.
+ Use the password for the server found in the serverConfig.txt file.
- Login as admin
+ Get the admin password from the serverConfig.txt file. I will refer to it as adminPass from now on.
+ Open the in-game text chat by pressing the - key.
+ Type in #login adminPass. Make sure this is correctly typed in, so that you will not reveal any information to other players. If inserted successfully, no one on the server will see this message.
+ You should now have admin access.

Actual Arma 3 Server executables are found in the main directory of this app
- "...Arma3ServerSetup\SteamCMD\steamapps\common\Arma 3 Server"

- Add more parameters into the end of the Target field in the Properties menu of the Arma3Server shortcut. Leave a space between every parameter.
