There was a bug with Arctic power plant that made it unable to be built in new and Cape. Should be fixed now. Sorry for that. New version is uploaded.
Added gold mines as separate mod for people unable to build them because of the bug in the first mod version. Let me know if it fixes your issue it works as in my game but i don't have the bug in my save anymore since i reverted to previews save so i don't know if it works for those that have the bug.
Nice to see someone bring power to the Arctic and Enbesa, something I've always wanted. It works fine in the game, but I noticed that arctic gold mines and arctic gas plants are not affected by electricity. While arctic gas is sufficient in most cases, several of my game saves have nearly used up all of the gas mines. So when I was trying to get more pops, the power buffs of Arctic and Ambersa weren't attractive enough for me. The arctic power plant also affected by the music box from oldnate. Anyway, thanks for the great ideas and work. It's just doesn't feel right to me. Maybe I'll try it again in a new game.
You can easily slow down consumption of gas by increasing the <CycleTime>45</CycleTime> in assets.xml. Cange it to <CycleTime>90</CycleTime> or what ever you like. Its the 388 line in the file if you are using notepad++. As for the gold mines i tried it but it gets bugged some how and unable to be built so i removed it.
now i'm short of -250 engineering workers on each arctic island i know that engineers are not needed in the arctic. but the game forgot. since the mod they have been in the arctic. more precisely, they are missing, because they don't exist.I haven't even set up a power station on all the islands. nevertheless, there is a lack of 250 engineers on each island
I have no Idea how could that be. Power plant unlocks with first Tehnician not Engineers I don't have that problem. Are you using updated version or the old one?
I've got this also with the latest version - it wants engineer workforce. It wasn't present in the previous version, but I lost my gold mines so decided to update.

after i deleted the mod, the power plant was left in the arctic and later caused confusion when i tested the new version. because I assumed that the arctic was free of power plants thanks to the phase without an active mod and did not expect that there would still be a power plant in the area. and with the new version engineers are suddenly needed. and thanks to commuter piers, the 250 workers were then missing on every arctic island...
are your gold mines all locked like mine? I need to find a way to trigger the unlock again, rather than reload, since i've made way too many changes since realising there was an issue...
I'm sorry to say unfortunately no at least i have not found the way. I tried making a fresh mod didn't work tried clearing the cash also didn't work. Only way so far is to load a game prior to installing the buggy version a make fresh save then install new version and continue from there..
After I cleared the cache and deleted the mod and downloaded and reinstalled the arctic power plant mod again, everything is working now. now the power plant needs technicians and not engineers
(And my gold mines were not affected by the mod. Even if I played actively with the old version for some time (but I was never in the new world during this time))
Not too bothered about the mines at this point, so no worries! I can get gold in other ways. I'll clear my cache and see if that resolves the engineer workforce issue. Thanks!
Update: deleted the plant, cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled the mod, and after rebuilding it's working as expected.
I can try to make separate mod to force the gold mine back by trying to ad a new construction menu for the gold mine alone. Only i have no way to test it as i reverted to earlier save so i don't have the bug in my game and i have no idea if that will work for anyone that has the bug still.

Update: sadly the fix didn't work, mines still locked and unbuildable, but it's cool. I'll get gold elsewhere for this game, and I'll be starting another soon enough, so not really a big issue. Appreciate you trying to help though! Thanks.
I love the idea of this mod. Big praise for the effort! but disabling the Gold mines in the NW it's a no-go for me. I totally can resonate with the logic. But I'm a lazy cat, I want my mines.
A variant where gold mines are enabled will make me include it in my list and endorse it.
That part was unintentional. I did not realize that i accidentally removed the mine so i removed it from the mod but still it was gone. To get it back you need to load a save prior to installing the Arctic part of the mod then continue from there with the new version. Its a bit...ch i know i fuc....up on that part. Really sorry for that.
