1979 MOVIE IMMERSION MOD is a preset for reshade that aims to graphically make the game Alien: Isolation, in particular the "Crew Expendable" and "Last Survivor" DLCs, as close as possible to the 1979 Alien film in color rendering, tending to bluish hues and dark and strongly contrasted photography. The preset includes 14 finely tuned shaders, including a custom LUT set, depth of field, film grain, screen aspect ratio 2.20: 1 (70mm film format) and support for the Marty McFly latest beta version of the RTGI shader for ray traced lighting effects. The screenshots and the video are acquired at 1600x900 screen resolution on a system equipped with an Intel Corei5 9600K, 16gb DDR4 and a GTX 960 2gb cpu. For best results it is recommended to use the mod "Alias Isolation" and, in the video settings of the game, disable the film grain effect and set the the gamma range to a value of 1 or 2. Obviously, the personal adjustments of TV/Monitor can greatly influence the final image effect. In any case, the result should aim to a rather dark image. Although it might seem contradictory, I wouldn't recommend a screen resolution higher than 1600x900 or 1920x1080 because at these two resolutions the game stands closer to the "analog" visual imprint of the original film, as well as ensuring a more stable frame rate as the mod greatly affects the fps performance. Due to the Letterbox effect black bars are displayed on the top an bottom of the screen, hiding part of the text wich is not visible with this mod. The only always visible information is the type of weapon used at the moment, at the bottom left of the screen. Although it could be a defect I consider it a further element of immersion and fidelity to the appearance of the film.
