Good evening, this mod appears to be crashing my game right after I select my starting tome. I have no other mods installed and I have all of the dlcs, Do you have any advice as to how to fix this?
I found a kinda fix, if you disable the mod then load into the game, then quit out, and enable it again you can continue your save just fine. I think the game doesn't like it when you mess with the ruler's points?
I apologize for way too late response, just today visited this site after a while. What version of the game do you use? If you decided to download version 1.4 of my mod, you need to have the game version Tiger 1.3 or higher. For game builds Tiger 1.0-1.2 you have to have mod version 1.3 or lower. Just to remind that all my mods are not compatible with any older builds of the game below Tiger 1.0.
The other root of the issue can be that you use other mod(or mods) which might be incompatible with mine, overwriting the same assets in certain rpk files. All my mods have attached detailed changelog.txt file which describes what my mods modifies as this can help you find the culprit causing this if the game version is not a problem here.
PS. This mod does not have hard requirement for dlcs, they are fully optional, if installed, new hero origins are gonna be affected by this mod too.
The Tiger 1.3.1 version of the game is installed with all DLCs and only 1 of your mods and the game crashes immediately after selecting a book. p.s. With new mod at level 30, the game does not crash.
Its hard to believe that my mod breaks the game after selecting a starting tome as all variants of this mod dont make changes to functions or anything related to tomes nor GUI. Just in case decided to download and check quickly two random current builds of my mod to see if i accidentally uploaded wrong files and everything works so far well for me. Can i know yet what variant of my mod did you download? And from where (i also uploaded these mods on steam and paradox interactive sites)? You two are honestly first people who reported an issue like that.
I downloaded the 1b and 2b versions of the mod from this site. I specially launched only one mod for the test with a random nation and my own, but the result is always the same - crash((
p.s. But your Level 30 Cap mod launched well in my build along with the 3361133045_2_Hero_Skillpoints_per_Levelup mod. :)
Now i also downloaded and checked 2b variant of my mod from this site, and have zero crashes. I run most current game build. I think something must be wrong on your side that game somehow has issues to handle the mod. At this point i have no idea how i can help with an issue.
I also don't understand why this is happening(( I have version v.1.009.003.100102 specified in the game client. When I downloaded the game from the website, it said Tiger 1.3.1 Update [GOG]. What programs do you use to open/edit acp/rpk game files? How difficult is it to find the necessary files and parameters in the game to modify them?
My mod has attached detailed changelog which describes the modified files, their properties and paths. As for modding tools the game has attached modding tools. To create new mod, open package manager and create a new project, call it however you want. Your mod is supposed to be stored in "[X]:\Users\[X]\AppData\Roaming\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonders 4\Mods\[Your Mod]". After that open Resource Packs editor from Package Manager. When the mod is made, save the changes first in resource editor, second in package manager and after you have to drop your work to "Desktop\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonders 4\Mods". I suggest to read documentation about modding tools, as they are available for everyone on paradox sites. If you use other operating system, the correct paths to your mod and game files can be much different, i dont have enough knowledge of mac and linux os so you have to figure it out on your own. The game content is stored however in "[...]\Age of Wonders 4\Content" and implemented changes to base game rpk files are stored inside your mod's .acp file.
im just too lazy to document each thing i change in mod. Some heroes and rulers (depending on their origin) were getting +3 to resistance instead +3 to status resistance, so i had to fix it. Other thing is i removed visual bug from item forge showing you 0 turn remaining to forge item, now should be displayed correctly "1 turn...". No other particural changes in builds.
Unfortunately you cant apply separate leveling and item forge rules for human and ai players. Beside even if it was possible i would have not intention to make changes in my mod regarding ai players, mod wasnt developed for the purposes of nerfing ai.
