LORE TIME:
When the International Space Elevator was constructed in 2011 Osea worked jointly with the EASA to develop defense technologies to defend it. The Osean Flight Test Center provided the plans of the Arkbird. Coupled with the Erusean Drone Programme, which was fast-tracked using Z.O.E. artificial intelligence from a recent technology acquisition, the EASA produced the Arsenal Birds, massive aerial fortresses capable of defending ISEV remotely.
In 2019, the OIA staged a move to gain more significant control of the space elevator, staking a much larger claim upon the project than agreed upon with Erusea. The perceived act of aggression led more radical elements in Erusea to declare war on Osea, and immediately the Arsenal Birds Liberty and Justice were seized. In this time, Sol Squadron of the EASA Experimental Flight Division was reactivated as an official wartime unit, tasked with operating with the Arsenal Bird and providing data for the ongoing ADF-11 Programme, stemming from the ADF-01 FALKEN designs acquired along with the Z.O.E. algorithms.
As the war raged on, a deadly Osean black operations squadron began appearing on battlefields all over the Usean theatre. Sol Squadron was diverted in a desperate bid to defeat this squadron, but was ultimately defeated in Shilage. Following the defeat, the EASA desperately fast-tracked the ADF-11 Programme, releasing all Z.O.E. AI safeguards in a bid to defeat this overwhelming force. This led to loss of control of the Arsenal Bird Justice, and the two ADF-11Fs Hugin and Munin, threatening all of mankind as they sought out to replicate their drones in facilities all over the world.
