Hi, in fact on rare cases i tend to comment on other mods, but mostly i would like to apologize that i mislead the function of ACMI, thinking originally it would be like a spiritual sucessor of Sly's Mod Manager, instead is a utility for creating fomod prompts, part of that was by through at first begin something like that because of the "Mod Installer" moniker. so i got plans at updating this errata on my current mods(the updates will take a bit for reasons i'll be explaning), as Vortex will be a standard for NexusMods users(despite i don't use personally, i know people there use it a lot, along the guide mentioned the necessity of ACMI)

Considering the time i still got for production, woud like to suggest some stuff related to ACMI if could be added, along i was sure at reading the guide by complete before asking for redudancy, in short, those are my doubts :

-About 7z compression, if you check Codename VANILLA articles, i mentioned about a protip that Krishty from ZFX Developia gave to me for reducing drastically the size of skin package or other heavier mods, which turned out to be a common issue for myself due my ISP currently isn't in a good mood either, but unfortunately some users would tend to avoid installing 7zip because or they have Winrar, or they won't to change their current settings for general use, not sure if you could implement something akin to this to ACMI, but it would be very useful for most compared to UnrealPak's native compression settings.

-I know ACMI supports additional description for the fomod file, the thing i'm unsure yet if is like, Vortex would show the mod page like on the web version or not, if is the latter, the description function supports a considerable length of character text, akin to real descriptions? you could check NoPortraits due it uses my current standard i'll be using for my mods at the future, but yeah, would like to know if this is possible for avoiding to add a readme file on the .zip made for Nexus.

-Currently i'm working in a model modding guide, along with an example model i'll be releasing, i still awaiting if model modding would boom on both sites into a tendency(considering isn't a easy task compared to skins), ACMI support for model modding is still precare, even more my MTD mod went deleted by the obvious reasons, so i hope the new mod i'll be releasing will be useful for making the better support for it plus with users adapting their layout for other categories. for now i'll be packaging those with UnrealPak and without support for ACMI, considering isn't something native at the current moment.

Will be awaiting a reply as soon as possible.

      Hey Rythus!

I'll try and answer what I can:

      - Compression is a gnarly one because there's obviously two options: compress the PAK or compress the resulting files. Compressing the PAK would be an option but I'd have to add compression support to my packing lib which would be a lot of work. Alternatively, like you said, I could just use 7z compression instead of basic ZIP. I shelved both of those earlier as not being worth the time, but I'll revisit both and see if I can get at least one of them working.

      - Yes, Vortex includes the entire description page for Nexus-sourced mods (that doesn't need ACMI, Vortex just does that). For non-Nexus mods however, it doesn't have any way to get the description so that only works for mods from Nexus right now.

      - I'm just as interested in model mods as anyone else (heck I've been helping with them with PW model swaps). You're right that ACMI doesn't support model mods since no-one will tell me anything about them. The day it stops being secret knowledge that everyone hoards like it's the meaning of life, I'll happily work on adding support for them in ACMI. Until then, I can't guarantee anything.

If you want to chat about any of this stuff, you can also find me on Discord (agc93#0001) or you can open an issue on GitHub (since I know Nexus comments aren't always the easiest medium)

Sorry for the wait, as i went busy with other stuff, but yeah, the compression question was related with the 7z one, if it could be translated, not the .pak compresion at all, along for non-Nexus users isn't most of a issue, as at least for Moddb releases, the readme in .txt and on the page is already enough and useful.

But yeah, mostly sorry about the question of model mods begin "put into 7 keys into sole mistery", part of this misinformation spreaded by mistake by the concerns AC7 modding currently has, but since the beginning, i wanted to work into a model modding guide at some point, i didn't did earlier as i wanted to research better, and i got IRL priorities(as i'm a human overall, despite people may call me a robot at times), if it was the later case, i wouldn't even giving the suggestion at first and probably would be cursing the VISMOD users having some internal conflicts. in short, the guide in general will be explaning the whole making off process and protips, so most of the files you could take note for the support will be listed, not sure if at the future more files may be included, by improvisation of the users, but the file count is already defined, the basic distinction i can give already, is related to VISMOD(that edit SPW or the Refuel probe/boom meshes), and the whole aircraft models, which can vary to the player model only, but also include the CPU models too.

At the current time, i'm working on this guide since, which started in the end of June, and one of my goals, is to releasing at the end of August or earlier if the rymthm doesn't go affected, due at the next month i'll be abstent of the AC community, part of that is related to IRL, but is good news at least, as mostly the guide influence is sort based on it.

That's everything i wanted to ask for now, with the guide released, i hope you, and the modders will be looking the guide at each byte for making the support to model mods begin added on ACMI as soon as possible, have a good day.

You should be dragging your assets folder (i.e. where your `pak` files are) on to acmi.exe. Just to confirm: are you trying to generate an installer or pack cooked skin files?

Thanks for using my stuff as an example. I'll start making sure my new content supports it, and update a few of my old packs with it.

That'd be awesome! Let me know (here or Discord) if you have any problems, and thanks for all the awesome skins!
