    Strangely enough, there was an export F-15E variant offered to Japan alongside the Super Hornet. It's called the F-15FX and this existed way before Boeing announced the F-15EX:  https://blog.goo.ne.jp/harunakurama/e/2262cca5b8bd4b4135dc22f9f1028523

    The JSDF does have a two seater variant of the F-15. Is it similar to the E variant or is it simply a two seater version of the C variant?

      Yes, the two seater F-15C is the F-15D; it is the Mitsubishi F-15DJ in Japan.
      Japan does not use the conformal fuel tanks though.
