Questions and Answers - Additional Skin Slots

Before you start asking about why the skin slot doesn't show up or report bugs which may or may not have been caused by the user themselves, read this first.

  • "New skins?"

This mod adds new skin slots, which then fellow modders may use to make skin mods. Or skin-slot model-swaps (model-swaps, but instead of replacing an entire plane slot, it only replaces certain skin slots).

  • "The skin slots ain't showing up"
You didn't install my Essential Files. READ. THE. DESCRIPTION.

  • "Going into the ASS slots, the plane becomes like this"
You didn't download the Additional Skin Slots module itself. READ. THE. DESCRIPTION.

  • "Going into the ASS slots, the plane looks like this"

You got no ASS-compatible skins for that slot, which causes the decal instances from my module trying to reference a regular instance which do not exist. Install some.

  • "Can you make (EXAMPLE) skin mod?"

No. I don't know how to. Commission someone for it. Don't bother doing "mod requests". People won't do stuff for free.

  • "Will (EXAMPLE) add-on also get ASS support?"

Only if there's actual skin mods for said add-on that is publicly available on mod-hosting sites such as Nexusmods or ModDB. Until then, no.

  • "Can I take a (EXAMPLE) skin .PAK and just rename it into any of the slots added by ASS?"

No. Textures, unfortunately, do not work that way. Once textures are cooked through UE4Editor, it'll stay cooked with that certain name, for that certain path. Renaming the textures do not work, unfortunately.
