The proper location was moved to the Appdata location when the game became available on the MS store I believe. It will probably still work in the steam directory, but that is no longer standard and adds a new layer of potential problems.
You can actually use either one location. I've been using the mods folder location inside the games folder for years without any problem.
But i think, it can cause problems if you place the same mods in both locations for example. Meaby even having a few in appdata and some in the games folder might cause it, but from my experience you're fine if you just choose one.
I am unsure what you mean. This map should work with about every mod made for the game. Unless that mod (like an overhaul) requires certain buildings/traders to be in a specific place on a map.
These errors are from other mods, or unrelated to anything In this collection. I would check for updates on other mods in your list that affect loot. Hope that helps 🙏
Had to leave a comment after spending 15 days playing on this map. It has been the most enjoyable experience I've had in this game, and I want to express my gratitude for your work!
Instructions with pictures at the top of the mod description tab. This is a collection of mods that just need to go in the mods folder. It will create a mods folder if you don’t have one if you put it in the correct location as well. EAC needs disabled and then you’re good to go. To find 7 Days to Die’s appdata location, hit [windows key and ‘r’] search %appdata% go to the “Roaming” folder and the game will have a folder, open that folder and copy paste the “Mods” folder from this download into that directory. I believe Guns Nerds and Steel made a good walkthrough on YouTube if anyone needs some further assistance with finding that as well!
We're using this map on our modded dedicated server and it's really awesome. Not gonna lie, i love the amount of details and hidden secrets you can find. Probably one of my favorite maps i've tested so far. Hope to see more of those awesome maps. The only downside is, that you have to let other people download the mods aswell, to play on the map. But i guess that's a fair deal for a great map.
BTW, the map is working like a charm on our end. Seen some comments complaining about the map not working on dedicated. But like other suggested already, you should place the "Hidden Lights" World folder into the Worlds folder of your dedicated server and let it load the map that way. Worked first try for us.
Love to hear it! Thank you for the feedback. I don't design things for servers, but try to make installation as simple as possible, mainly for making client setup easier. It's a mixed bag with server stuff, some aren't set up ideally for 7DTD, and many are run by people who may be overconfident about what they are trying to do 😅. I am not familiar with the ins and outs of server configuration, but I have a good idea what clients will also need installed. Thank you for the kind words and reinforcement 🙏
