it is how it used to be for I think every food AND drink item in the game not too sure why they removed it but I guess modders have to step up to do the devs work once again
nah the modders getting paid by bethesda only make the lowest effort kinds of mods you can make, like new player homes or new guns hat have no new animations or skins for your pip boy power armor and guns. the real modders doing stuff with animations and scripting arent getting paid.
