To change the points per level, edit the xml file (found in your mods folder) from <set xpath="/progression/level/@skill_points_per_level">20</set> to <set xpath="/progression/level/@skill_points_per_level">(insert number of points wanted here)</set>, thank you to user: Zudakas for helping people in the comments, its greatly appreciated! if you have any more questions, feel free to leave them in the comments/forums :)
Mod isn't working at all, even after changing progression3.xml to progression, like someone stated. even as the only mod is is not giving the 3 points.
Simply change the 20 to whatever you want, and poof, fixed just for you :)
If you have another mod that modifies the progression settings, you may have to combine the two. Honestly I am surprised there isn't a program that merges mods like Bethesda games. It's just taking lines from all the separate mods, sorting them by section, and combining them into one file.
More than likely yes, try moving the mod to the top of your load order, if that doesnt work, it may be fully incompatible with the mod you are using, if you have any further questions, feel free to dm me on discord, my username is kap0thegoat :)
I resolved this. I was using the Perk Mastery Mod as well and needed to add the code from this mod into that one and remove this mod. Zadukas' post helped me to figure this out.
