If you are willing to tell anyone how it's done that asks you, wouldn't it be easier for you and everyone else to just make a post about how it's done?
I'm in the process of doing several video tutorials on this and several other nifty Prefab tricks I've discovered to enhance POI game-play (hidden noise traps, sleeper spawning under water, hidden mines, etc.). But the short version is that this is supported by columns of terrain blocks that have had their 'density' manipulated in the Prefab Editor (using the down arrow key) to the point where they are no longer visible. In this state, they still have SI, and neither the zombies nor the players can directly interact with them. Zombies will not agro against them as they don't even know they are there. There is a particular property with terrain blocks that makes this possible - which I will explain in detail in the tutorial.
Yeah I was goofing off in a custom private game trying to see if I could build a aircraft carrier lol. Then scrolling through FB saw this and gave me the idea to try my hand at a sub. Didn't turn out to bad until I got to the conning tower.
In the spirit of modding and sharing knowledge (which the Mod Author should have embraced...) I will share how to make a floating object..
Make a new prefab. Place a letter (or any other shape you want, letters work best) then raise the ground level to the height of the floating thing you want or support you need to add then Copy the object and the vertical space to just below the ground grid. Paste it where you need it and you have an invisible support. You're welcome fellow modders.
Now, if you had bothered to actually ask me how it's been done, I would have gladly shared that. Most people really don't care - they just want to play interesting POI's. And I have shared my technique on various Discord and Facebook groups. But, for some reason, you had to approach this in a rather antagonistic manner...... Why didn't you just simply ask?
I guess you didn't read his comment..... For somebody who doesn't take any criticism of his own work, he seems to be open to take stabs at others creativity........ Perhaps you should instead ask him why he never went into any technical details on how he accomplished any of his contributions he's uploaded here. I don't take kindly to people making the implication that I'm intentionally withholding information or being secretive.
lol Didn't mean to insult or trigger you. This is a nice POI.
I watched a video review on your POI and it was made clear you were hiding the technique. You commented on that video and didn't correct that assertion. What ever the case may be, I am for more mods and better mods and will do everything I can to spread knowledge allowing others to make that happen.
So you watched some random video by some random guy, not the prefab maker? And from that you just assume everything said was just spot-on truth and accuracy? Real smart thing to do right there. You could have simply, y'know, asked him how he did it? Sure would have been a smarter move than spouting paranoid theories about people hiding away information because of their ego. Way to make a retarded moral grand stand there about sharing knowledge for the good of the community. I'm really glad you saved me the hassle and headache of asking a guy a question. That's some difficult stuff. You're a real crusader there bud.
Yes. And the prefab maker did not correct the assertion that was made he was keeping it secret which fueled my desire to reverse engineer and share it. Why are you complaining or caring about that?
I didn't ask because not correcting the statement that he was keeping it secret made it clear to me that was the case. Why would I bother asking at that point?
Every mod creator in the history of mod making whether its skyrim or rimworld or 7d2d is an over-dramatic histrionic narcissist. All of them. Just my observation. #FREETHECODE
This looks awesome! Me and a friend really want to try it out, but both of us are pretty new to this game and I'm not sure how to install it. Is it as simple as dragging the files inside the zip and dropping them in the POI's folder?
Yup - you can drag the files either into the main Prefab folder (which will keep it separate from the vanilla POI's, but still load into the game) or you can drop it into the POI sub-folder with all of the others. Then you just have to generate a new world and you're on your way. Enjoy!
I am seeing on some of these prefabs, something about adding the POI into the rwgmixer to have them load into a random generated world, is there a specific way to do this or does it not need to be done?
I'm not positive on this since I haven't had to do this myself, but it's possible that they are using a custom POI size. The new tile system needs to have the POI's to be in standard sizes that fit the spawn markers in the tiles. I think that adding a couple of tags into the RWG mixer will allow them to spawn in even if they are not the exact size normally required. But I could be wrong...... It may also be that they are still A19 versions of these POI's - which does require you to add a line in the RWG mixer - they've done away with that necessity in A20.
do you know of anywhere to figure out what tags of code you would have to add? (like i said earlier, really new to this and honestly have no clue about coding), also are you able to teleport to it using the admin teleport thing?
**EDIT** Just found it and the others I added, sorry for being so confused! So excited to check this out! Thank you so much for the help <3
Unfortunately I haven't really dug into the A20 tags in the rwgmixer yet. Somebody over in the CompoPack discord channel might be able to point you in the right direction. And yes, you can teleport to it with the developer mode turned on ( hit F1, then type dm, hit F1 to get the console to disappear, then hir ESC - the teleport button will be in the upper left).
Thanks a lot! I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you thought about it - I'm always looking for input on what people liked/disliked so I can make the next ones better. :)

Share the knowledge!
"Enjoy my mods or don't, I really don't care. If your entitled arse whines to me about one of my Mods your comment will be deleted."
I won't delete your comment though. I'm not that insecure....... Have a lovely day!

Can't wait to explore it in the game.
