As of November the 3rd of 2023 : I just updated this mod to A21 by adjusting the code syntax. The results should be the same or roughly the same as before.

You are just another victim of RNGesus, pray more. Joke aside, this is possible. I've also looted 5 or 6 nests without eggs. You have 50% chance of finding them. I have nests everywhere in my world, like one every 10 or 12 meters, just loot more nests and tell me if you find eggs.
Yeah well, this is an A19 mod, if code changed, then it may be normal... I don't know, anyways I'll look when I can and keep users informed of what I am going to do.

Sorry for the late reply, I was far away. AFAIK eggs can be found in fridges, or maybe I confuse myself with Sham boxes, where yhou can find some. I'll look in the file to see where I can tweak some things.

Today i installed on the server side, and for this mod i saw a line in server console :
Duriel's More Eggs/ModInfo.xml in legacy format. Please consider upgrading to V2 for future compatibility.
don't know if it's important or not, wanted to share it tho.

It's not important. I just forgot to update the modinfo.xml to the new format, it won't impair your gameplay ;)
I will update it for the newt game version, if needed at all.

eggs have very high spoil-times irl, surely you could find some during the apocalypse

This mod works as it should. Now I have more eggs but also without any exaggeration. In my opinion, this mod is well balanced.

Nice, yes I think it is. Having nice bacon and eggs is always a good thing to go with coffee and zombie killing spree.
