Let me check, one sec... According to the information in the description tab, yes, apparently it does. Although, I could be misunderstanding the info in the description tab, since English isn't my first language.
Well. So does this modify the perk or is that just a little less useful now? (I am not asking if this works with the perk but is the mod removing the perk or gonna edit that's description because it says it will speed up looting time I think so its kind of confusing...?)
The Lucky Looter perk decreases the time it takes to search containers. At level 1 it's 10 percent quicker, level 2 is 20 percent quicker, level 3 is 40 percent quicker, level 4 is 60 percent faster, and level 5 is 80 percent faster. Even if you max out Lucky Looter, you'll still get a search timer. If a container takes 10 seconds to search, then at max level of Lucky Looter it will still take 2 seconds to search the container.
This mod makes container searching 100 percent faster at Lucky Looter level 0 through 5. This means that you don't need to put skill points into Lucky Looter for this mod to work. This effect makes searching containers take 0 seconds (basically instant). The in-game description for Lucky Looter remains unchanged; only the ScavengingTime passive effect of the perk has been changed. You'll still want to take the perk to increase your LootStage. Hopefully this makes sense.
Thank you for your clear explanation of how it works. So if i understood it correctly, Lucky Looter is still useful as it helps to increase player's LootStage. I didn't know about that actually. So thank you!
I have a last question that isn't really on this topic, that is do you get any crashes from using mods as I cannot play the game with mods it just crashes my game. Even though I disable the anticheat.
Despite how unoptimized the game tends to be, it's very stable for me in terms of crashes. I can't remember this game ever crashing on me. Even when trying to play with a broken mod, the game just forces open the console and shows you an error. When you try closing it, it just gets forced open again and continues showing the error, so you're forced to shutdown the game anyways. I don't play experimental so I don't know how well the game runs on that branch.
Sorry, I realized its something wrong with my installation of drivers somehow. The game had been crashing before so I removed all data files and it got fixed then I managed 7 Days To Die with Vortex it broke the game once again. So its something to do with Vortex. It even forced Fallout 4 to crash. So I ran the game without mods at max settings without any issues but I've gotten this unexplainable issues now for some reason I don't quite know. However this isn't because of your mod so I do apologize for bringing it up. By the way, I just installed 7D2D on its default branch so I don't really know if it was running on the experimental version but it probably was but thanks anyway.
Yeah, Vortex doesn't play nice with some games. Due to how easy modding this game is, I recommend installing mods manually. I understand it's not easy for everyone, though.
Thank you it works now! I did it manually which to be honest is easier than using Vortex.
I hope to see more mods from you like this one that actually helps to speed up the process of the game which adds a lot of replay ability IMO. A lot of respect.
So far I've had no issues with your mods. Currently have this and Faster Crafting and even Wood Burns Longer. By the way is it, normal for the game to display negative values when crafting huge amounts of items? I think its just the game doing its math in a dumb manner. Not a bug report just saying!
The negative numbers are a result of how Faster Crafting is implemented. I've come up with a way to try to "fix" it, but haven't had time to test it. It doesn't really need to be fixed, since the end result is the same.
Why did you call it instant anyway? It does on some crafting items take a few seconds when there's many items that's being crafted even though it says: 0 or negative values. I'm not asking for a rename just some clarification on that would be great!
Sadly the developers of the game still haven't fixed that delay or bug that happens when you are looting it will suddenly sometimes kinda freeze the game before it actually starts the timer or in this case skip or instant timer. Is this due to calculation of the items it is randomly generating for player lootstage? Or perhaps the timer is poorly optimized. This problem has been around for a while now and unfortunately it wasn't fixed by this mod but that's fine its only a fraction of a second and a minor of annoyance not so much of an inconvenience.
There used to be 2 versions of Faster Crafting. One version was, quite simply, faster than vanilla crafting, but there was still a timer. The other version was my attempts to reduce the timer to zero. The way I had implemented the Faster Crafting version meant that it wasn't thorough, there were some items that weren't affected. The Instant Crafting version used a different method to achieve its goal; this version affected nearly all items. There were a few stubborn ones that I couldn't get to work, though. Eventually I came up with the idea that the current version uses; this version affects all items, AFAIK. It was much easier to just have one version of the mod, and since this, I felt, was the best implementation, I simply kept the Instant Crafting version and got rid of the Faster Crafting version. It is technically instant if you think about it like this: time can't move backwards, something that takes 0 seconds could be considered instant. Anything less than that would therefore also be considered instant. The timer only "counts down" while you're looking at it; if you exit the workstation for a second or two the crafting completes instantly.
Yeah, the short game freeze that happens when opening a container is a bit annoying. Since I haven't played the game without this mod in quite some time, I assumed the lack of a timer caused the short freeze. I assumed the game needed that time to figure out what's supposed to be in the container. But if it's also happening without this mod then I guess it must be a game issue.
Thank you for answering all my questions! That's all I've got to ask about so, Kudos to you!
I'm surprised this mod isn't getting more downloads. Its really useful for escaping away from a horde approaching you when your looting the last house or wanting to loot a house quickly while the zombies are still alive but in idleness. And not to mention makes quests more appealing like looting those chests/bags instantly as I can break the wall from outside to access the bag and don't have to wait for the weirdly long timer. FINALLY!
For what it's worth, I'm currently considering buying the game, but during my "research" I was instantly turned off by the seeing that loot countdown in videos, so I just googled "7 days to die loot timer mod" and now I'm here. So the current mod name seems to be good in that sense (although it might also have shown up on Google if it had another name).
Sidenote: I'm not going to wait for litterally nothing in the precious spare moments I have for gaming. So thank you for creating this.
Haha. Wait 'til you discover the crafting and smelting timers. Those are pretty egregious as well. Fortunately, there are mods for that linked in the description of this mod. Enjoy!
Sorry, not sorry, This Mod Trumps Most. Let me explain. I'm a psycho, I'm an OG, thus a risky player and the King of Yeetifiability because I'm a huge Hoarder and let me just properly iterate what this mod allows me to do, mixed with (for maximum effort) "Harry's More Loot From Zombies 100%" mainly but others as well, I have the Loot Bag Heaven on my screen and cut the typical time down to almost OVER 9000x SPEED! But seriously bro, thank you, this made my Yeetify Heaven Map for Insane Achievements possible. You're doing a good thing here man, I mean it, keep up the good work G! >X3
No, this has nothing to do with loot respawns. When you open a loot container (i.e. cars, trash bags, cabinets, etc.), there is a countdown before it opens. With the Lucky Looter perk you can decrease the amount of time it takes to open loot containers, but the amount of time is only reduced by 80 percent with the max level of Lucky Looter. This mod decreases the open time for loot containers by 100 percent (you don't even need to invest into Lucky Looter), basically removing the timers, which means opening a loot container is pretty much instant.
Wow! Thank you so much for this mod! I always edit the loot timer from my videos, so you just saved me at least 20 mins of editing time on every video. Endorsed and voted.
I never actually considered this would be useful for content creators, I guess I didn't really think about it. I'm glad you like it, and thanks. I've actually been playing with this mod since Alpha 18, I just never released it. Well, until now I guess.
Not really. I didn't really want or really need that (at least not yet). There are a lot of other mod authors who put in a lot more effort than me who you could donate to though (if you wanted to, of course).
