About this mod

Re-colors nearly every sprite, to improve screen readability and reduce visual clutter.

This mod is no longer maintained, and will not work with the current game version.

I recommend Sprite Reborn (Updated for 1.0) instead.

---

Initially created to enhance the visibility of projectiles, this mod grew to be a full re-color of nearly every sprite in the game:

  • Characters have full-color portraits and sprites.
  • Enemies are distinct.
  • Bosses have their own custom, unique color schemes.
  • Icons for upgrades/runes/tomes have color groups that match powerups with similar functions (eg. purple for summons, green for utility, blue for electricity, etc).
  • Projectiles are easier to tell apart.
  • Visual FX are distinct and have some transparency.

The sprites have been re-designed with accessibility at the forefront. Color changes should balance well with each other, with overbearing colors used sparingly, and the classic red still used for very special cases.

Thanks to Dex for showcasing this mod!

Updates

v10.0 - Aug 17 (game v0.7.6)

  • HOTFIX: Fixes a crash due to incorrect sprites. New sprites are not colorized yet.

v9.3.0 - July 19

  • Bow weapon has been added

v9.2.0 - July 16 2022

  • Yuki has been added (as well as her Frost Butterfly and upgrade icons)
  • Abby has been re-worked. She now looks closer to her vanilla sprite (and hence more like the Discord logo)
  • Crossbow charge FX added.
  • Grass is now green.
  • Lurker (eyeball monster) projectiles are now visually distinct from grenade launcher bullets (new colour & pattern).

Installation

  • Install Asset Replacer
  • Add this mod's textures folder to your Mods\Textures folder
(the zip is already set up to follow this structure).
  • Edit the config for SpriteReplacer:
    • The file is here: 20MinuteTillDawn\BepInEx\config\SpriteReplacer.cfg
    • Change the TextureModFolder value to: Graphical-Overhaul

The full line of your config should say:

TextureModFolder = Graphical-Overhaul

Original sprites by Flanne, the game's developer. My work is just the re-coloring.
