At my Space-System, this Mod sadly is not Savegame-Compatible. When i deactivate it, i cant load one of my saves. My solution atm is to keep it installed. Any more deletable solutions out there? Thanx and greetz.
Thanks for the ear-saver! I play with headphones too, and that humming sound was driving me crazy. I can confirm that it works well with v2.51 of X:R.
P.S. The Kraftwerk track is okay, though more variety is always welcome. I'm thinking of adapting some Star Wars cantina music for my own personal use. Thanks for the instructions on how to do so.

I would love it if you could have the bar music loop start at a random point in the song... I am using http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERyvhGxI4Po for the bar music... and well, it clocks in at 1:34:38... so would love to not just hear the beginning all the time.
friend is it possible to change the sound of the engines boosting,tell me plz if it can be done on a personal level cause i d like to put on of my own favorite sounds for this kind of games or even give a short tutorial in here,thxnk you for your mod!
I have a little problem with changing the music in the bar. I´ve cut the track now into one mono line, but when i enter the bar the music splits into two loops that are both playing at the same time and that really ruins it so i would like t know if there is a time limit for the track. (srry for mistakes i am really bad at writing english.... -.-)
I have noticed that to, and I believe it came with update 1.14 or 1.15. It worked before. I am still looking for a workaround. I think it has nothing to do with the customized file. It´s got to do with sound starting at object creation time. Maybe it´s only on my machine, but the problem exitst since the station is not rendered anymore at "once" , it now renders "part" by "part", and here is where the timing lag beginns. Every bar has several speakers, every speaker plays that file, but they aren´t synconized anymore.
Well, really enjoy the station humming reduction part, but could you provide a less intense (more relaxing) kinda slowtrance music for the clubs? this one still breaks my afterwork tired nerves! (well can still enjoy the less humming part, and dont really need to stay long in clubs anyway, dancers arent so attractive!..)
I don´t need to change the bar music, you can easily do it yourself. Here´s is a how to:
- Take your favorite tune in a audio-editor, for example audacity 2.0 (freeware). - if you use audacity or an other audio-editor, cut your stereo tune in 2 Mono Voices, delete 1 Voice or mix both lanes into 1 new mono Voice - save the remaining 1 mono voice as "uncompressed Format" with the options Header: WAV, Codec: Signed 16-bit PCM - open your programs/steam/ .... Xrebirth folder - open the extensions folder and go into \better_ambient_sfx\sfx\ambient\platform - here you see a file: interior_bar_music_03.wav , rename your WAV with that filename and copy it there. - start game, go into bar, listen to your own loop or tune - if there is just nothing playing, you choose the wrong codec or your tune still maybe stereo. If you done everything right, it should play.
Sounds more complicated than it is, its super easy Feel free to ask questions, if unclear.
Thanx a lot for explanation, tried to find a way by myself, but not a specialist of sound edition at all! tried with no success with some editors i had, downloading audacity.
Audacity is a really good one, when you want to quickedit sounds. It lacks fom supporting loops and BPM, but is a really fine free converter for almost any type of sounds. BTW , if you loaded the sound in audacity, click in the track / lane on the little triangle, choose Stereo to Mono, and close one lane... then go on export, choose "Other uncompressed format" and go on like described.
