   So this isn't possible to do as a standard mod? I mean with a .XComMod file and all that

      Sorry i have no knowledge about modding, i just modified an ini with another (unused but ingame) night preset.
      
      I hope a more experienced guy can use this preset i found as base for doing better stuff

      i might have a solution for you on this.. I'll pm you the test i made, and you can test it out. I don't have time to test it today, but it SHOULD work

   I'm always looking for things like this that increase the ambiance of my game, but I'd really appreciate some side-by-side before and after pictures, so I can get an idea how different it looks.
