    Is this compatible with Long War?
    If needed, could you supply us with what needs to be changed in the ini file (or whatever the files may be) so we can alter them ourselves?

      I'm curious about this as well. Getting tired of aliens contemplating their life choices for several seconds before they finally decide it's time to go.

      Edit: Did try the PatcherGUi version of this mod and it seems to be working fine with Long War.

    This is essential, imo.

    I can't believe this bug still exists.

    I use the patchergui version at found in the mod "XCOM Interface and Gameplay Tweaks"

    I've just recently tested this one with Long War Beta 15f and it works perfectly as intended, no more death delays for the aliens.

    EDIT:

    I actually use the file from here: http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom/mods/474/?

    Using PatcherGUI. Cheers!

    Hello. ToolBoks doesn't exist anymore. Do I still need to use toolboks or can I use patcherGUI instead?

    Yes, I meant use alternative file included in "Interface and Gameplay Tweaks".

    In response to post #12768871.

    Sounds good, always nice to see a good change spread.

    Ugh another update, one bug fix and everything gets budged around.... I hope the function addresses didn't change this time.

    It does change offsets, as they deleted 7 names, added 1 new name and resized 1 function.

    Thanks, I'm adding this to Interface Tweaks.

    I really love this mod and I found that delayed death animation annoys me even if I'm just testing and not actually playing the game. So I turned this into all EW version compatible PatchUPK/PatcherGUI mod:

    MOD_NAME=Remove Death Animation Delay
    AUTHOR=Peasly Wellbott
    DESCRIPTION=Prevents units from flinching before they die.

    Version: 1.0

    Compatible with XCOM Enemy Within versions:
    - all

    UPK_FILE=XComGame.upk

    OBJECT=XGAction_Death.Executing
    REL_OFFSET=0xCC5
    BYTE=0x96
    Since it uses relative offset, it will stay compatible with future patches, unless Firaxis decides to completely rewrite XGAction_Death.Executing script.

    Peasly Wellbott, with your permission I'd like to include your mod into my Interface Tweaks collection. To have them all in one place.

      I agree. That little hit flinch, and then suddenly throwing themselves into the death animation is really awkward looking. For a game that capitalizes on its cinematic combat visuals, that little quirk undermines the visual satisfaction from an x-ray kill, or the tragedy of a comrades death.

      Some mods I use to make the game more dynamic or interesting. But in my mind this isn't a mod, but rather an important aesthetic game component that the developers forgot to include. The game itself is no less functional without it, but it's a highly visible imperfection that taints the entire game play experience.

      It's like:
      - A bit of chipped paint on the hood of a new car
      - A jigsaw puzzle with one of the pieces left blank.
      - A single dead pixel on your monitor.
      - When your shoe squeaks with every step.

      I consider this mod essential.

      My gratitude to you all for fixing the game.
