So, I'm new to modding this game and have been solely playing EU due to the fact that the existence of exalt is plain preposterous, but, having completed a no casualty run of the main game, I wanted to try out a new challenge that wouldn't be based at all on RNG, so I turned to modding to remove the humongous plothole that is this new faction to enable myself to enjoy the Within expansion. However, despite having followed the instructions to a t and having the latest version of the game, modding it resulted in an error message appearing instead of the game proper on each bootup attempt. Uninstalling the mod did not remove the issue.
Currently reinstalling the game, but would still like some advice, as I would rather skip to 2 than deal with exalt. As much as I love the series, the faction's motivations are the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a videogame, Fallout 76 in its entirety notwithstanding.
That's pretty much the answer I expected, thanks anyway and thanks for making the mod in the first place. :-) I enjoyed the missions for about 3/4th of a game, then they got too samey.
ChrisK099, probably it will not. But you can try to install it with PatcherGUI and use automatically generated uninstall file to undo mod changes if something goes wrong.
I thought so, thanks for answering. I'll try it. Any chance you are gonna make a compatible mod in (the likely) case it isn't? Gonna take me forever to even figure out how to (total noob ).
PatcherGUIReadme.txt: 1. To use PatcherGUI, unpack it to any folder and run PatcherGUI.exe. Console utilities, used by PatcherGUI, do not support unicode, so don't use unicode paths! 2. When you first run PatcherGUI, you'll need to set path to your XCOM:EU or XCOM:EW game. If you want to install mods for XCOM:EU, use Path-to-SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown folder, and if you want to install EW mods, use Path-to-SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW. 3. You'll want to put mods in separate folders inside Mods directory. It's is not necessary, but it will let you keep track of installed mods and locate automatically created uninstall files easily.
So, first you need to set things up with steps 1-2. After that you need to download a mod, TurnOffEXALT in your case, unpack it and put TurnOffEXALT.txt in any folder you like, preferably somewhere inside PatcherGUI\Mods folder. Then you need to browse for TurnOffEXALT.txt with PatcherGUI, open it and press "Install" button. If everything is OK, you may then start the game and enjoy XCOM with no EXALT missions.
I did, Im trying to come up with more imaginative way of saying Huuuuuuuuhhh? So it says to load mod, but not how to do that? Or am i missing something, i red the Mod Example but dont understand it.

Finally, with 30 enemies on map, Exalt is a fair challenge. I prefer quantity over quality ;-)
